you can cheat them in, but you can't get them out of season without cheating. They continue to exist after built, out of season, though.
Which actually makes it more dumb that you cant craft one, and I suppose one shouldnt focus on it, and just treat it as a once in a while novelty, but that bit of extra comfort is always helpful. And it sucks that there is a chance you can unlock your whole map, and not find one. Or get really lucky on a seed (3 is the max I found when just previewing / looking at different seed generations). I never picked that world though, as the rest looked like a pain in the ass to traverse.
Deep Forest cliffsides almost high into mountains and a very forest meadow as the starting area, with not much flatland to variate it. I think I made it during Hearth and Home's new terrain generation, but I cant be sure. It was after a major change, either way, and it didnt always produce the nicest Seeds.
Back to the MaypoIe, wouldn't fault anyone for cheating one in. Hell, I even might. There still such a lack of certain building decorations that it would be nice to have around to craft out of season.
Edit / addendum: as well as some other season exclusives. But only for now. Once the game has more to be released and it can do MP events that would bring people in just for this, I could see it being a more justified thing. Right now, its simply a thing most of us will cheat in because...what else is the point? If the game is still updating, and you got a timed item, you may or may not have to toss that world out anyways, if generation or anything else changes.
Once it really is full release, I could see having live events around holidays be pretty fun. With maybe some cool items to buy from Haldor or something like that. As it currently stands, there's just not enough to hold back these items from being full-time for now, or keeping these full-time, and adding substitutes for them later on as event exclusives.
And now I'm just rambly. Either way, hope you're having a good one.
