You're overthinking the game. And as already noted, you can't put fire onto a wooden floor. But you can put it on bare earth or stone. So if you want a fire inside and understand ventilation, then cut a square in your floor inside and put your fire on the ground. It's not complicated unless you want to make it that way. The game isn't trying to be "realistic" but it does have some mechanics you have to adjust to, just like any other game. Instead of fighting it or ranting about it, just understand how it works and adapt. You'll enjoy the game much more if you're open to figuring out how things work (and sometimes don't work).
