Oh, and floor tiles don't count as roof; I think that's your issue. Add some tiles that have "roof" in the name above your bench, and it should sort it out.
Sorry, couldn’t help myself. I hope this helps you with roofs in general, though. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7JRsxqKrlL8&pp=ygUSUm9vZiBndWlkZSB2YWxoZWlt
floor tiles count as roof. atleast for stone and marble. not sure on wood right now.
but anything that blocks the rays counts. benches need 70% of thier rays covered to function.
yes metal and dvergr walls block rays.
These buildings look different from what I can make. What level is this instruction video assuming I'm at?
as you progress trough the biomes of this game more and different building options become available when you find new materials etc. new options unlock.
thats why building a massive base early on is not needed or worth it as youll make a new one either way probaly. or redesign the entire thing and break it down.
for example with iron wood beams you can build ALOT higher structures than without it.
without a pickaxe you cannot dig moats or shape the terrian to your likeing.
the list goes on from there.
some building materials dont unlock until you get to the mistlands (the games current last biome the next one will be the ashlands end of this year)
The more you build the better you get, my first "bridge" was a terrible mess of sticks, that collapsed. Keep at it, you will get there.
You’ve got this, friend.
only things that are considered roofs are waterproof.
wood floors are not waterproof.
makes sense. didnt think about that.
