What are the plans after Ashlands?
When is the game going to be finished 100%?

After Ashlands, it's the frozen north, and then a likely rework of the ocean. Maybe that'll be 1.0, maybe not.

Whats there to do with water? The waves are incredible as is. More water monsters?
Underwater cities and rebreathers?

Honestly, I don't know. I've not heard them go into any details about their plans for it.

I would love to see some stuff with Ran myself. Ever since I learned about the name, Ive been definitely up to finding out more about her. Turns out shes one of the primeval giants whose tempests drag men down to the bottom of the sea, to act as her thralls. Absolutely a story and a half which could be reflected perhaps in the Tenth World. Just as the Vanir from the Swamps reflects the war the Aesir had with them before making up.

100% Agree the sailing and way water works is fantastically well done the only thing I miss is the odd genuine river or lake.

However they do it I am pinning my hopes on them seeing they actually have interest here for a more MMO game using similar (but heavily tweaked) mechanics. But perhaps to the game Devs credit they have to my knowledge never speculated what they will do after Valheim 1.0 comes out, and put all their focus apparently into doing just that.

I just hope is a MMO ish world where we could encourage player interaction have a higher active players per server count and to a degree renewable resources to allow for this.

They could even reuse Valhiem Lore and have that set in the "1000s of years Valheim has drifted struck from the world tree, empires have risen and fallen etc" So maybe we could play as the ancestors of the fallen Draugir or the Dverger at their height battling the remnants of the Giantish hordes whose bones litter what is now the mistlands.. Its easy easy easy to see how the lore of this could be set. But I am wishing for the moon I suspect!

Underwater exploration which requires a breath-extending potion (like in Stranded Deep) in order to explore the underwater kingdom of Ran carrying your serpent scale shield and trident? My meager imagination can't contend with what the developers can do so hopefully we'll start seeing concept art after Ashlands comes out of PTB.

The frozen north will be the final test before the world tree. I think the world tree will be the final biome introduced with the release of 1.0

Valheims next step!
What do you guys think Valheims next step could be after Ashlands? Im thinking if the world gets finished, like Iron gates adds Ashlands and whatever is the biomes North of the map, they could add another Dimension, access to another world, presumably like the Underworld or Helheim, and after that maybe add a Viking Heaven dimension where we can go fight the Gods for our freedom, maybe have it so after we defeat all the Forsaken, Odin refuses to grant us freedom and Now he Fears our newfound strength, since we defeated all the Forsaken he himself could not defeat, se condemns us to Helheim where we Build up our new strength to go fight the keepers of Helheim to escape, and manage our way to Valhalla where we can Defeat Odin. Idk, some crazy things, what ideas do yall think would be dope

I think in between of Ashlands and Deep North they will make something like Ocean Overhaul to make it less empty.
And yes, another dimensions would be dope af, and they can add something new to game for years after release with this. And would be nice if after beating The Forsaken gameplay in another realms will be more souls-like. I mean no steep difficulity (rather HP and damage output of an enemies) rise from biom to biom and more tactical approach to fights. Somewhat like when you clearing fuling camps in Plains in Mistland gear. You still need to be cautios about how you taking fights, but have some room for mistakes and gear build experimentation (like i am currently parrying summoner). Maybe even make in this new dimensions some sort of "Epic" weapons which you can find but not craft.
So, for my taste, making after-endgame content more like adventure game will be positive change and refresh experience after hundreds of hours of survival. You're an Epic Hero now, defeated The Forsaken and have a grudge against ásynjur for making you do the dirty work, so why not do little adventuring? Sure keeping survival aspects like new foods, resources and goods, and keep ability to build your base anywhere

Thanks ^^

Also long ago i postet at Valheim Discord server in suggestions tread about ocean update.
Like new harpoon types that consume less stamina and allow to tug ships
Enemies in the ocean i suggested to be ships:
1. Skeleton Carvee (or Karve... ergh, english is foreign to me) which will cruise at some distance near Black Forest and Swamp and carry skeleton archers. Reward will be some copper or bronze ingots and valuables
2. Draugr Drakkar which will cruise around the Swamp biom and carry the whole raiding party of zombie-vikings. Reward will be iron ingots, cores and valuables
3. Fuling Battleraft will cruise around Plains and be essentialy floating fuling camp. Reward is black metal ingots, totems and valuables.
Undead ships would defy the wind, but be slower than player built ships. Fuling battleraft will obey the wind, but be pretty fast for its size (imagine scene from Moana where she fought a whole floating island of coconut people). Not too fast for it to overtake drakkar, but still. Also maybe an event called "Old planks are creaking" with whole raid from the sea with undead ships
