Effect of weight on ship performance

I loaded 15 stacks of ore in my longship hold and she sailed home very, very slowly. Anyone else have the same experience?

Weight doesn't affect ship speed.

Yes ship seem to wallow about in the water heavily laden. Dunno if its a real phenomenon but it does seem that way that they loose a little manoeuvrability and while raw speed remains the same the damage caused by wave peaks and drops seems to go up very slightly in tests I have done. But its not conclusive.

ship cargo weight has absolutly no effect on ship speed/turn speed or water depth. wind and storms affected it. but not weight load on cargo.

a cart with load on the boat deck affects it.

storage in the hold has no effect.

if you are on a server, sometimes latency can cause the ship to perform strangely.
