Finding Haldor?

I haven't found the traders yet, any tips? They don't exactly leave around rune stones that advertise the shop locations... or do they?
I know Haldor is somewhere in black forest territory - trouble is that there are multiples of those forests.

It is completely random. There are, i believe, 10 spots generated in black forests with a minimum distance from spawn. Once one has been found, he spawns there and any other potential spot gets locked away from ever spawning him. However i don't believe there is a max distance as i have had a seed where all Haldor spawns were pretty much at the edge of the world.

Continue exploring, you will get notification:

1.Haldor is in the black forest, you will see him on the map as a coin pouch.
2.Hildir is in the meadows, same marker. (she is a little bit harder to find, her spawn points at greater distance from the center, i got her in second third of the radius)

i did not find Haldor until DAY 750ish and he was alllll the way up by Deep North!

I just found Hildir this morning on her own small island with 3 Biomes, her portal is literately on Meadows with Plains at the edge. Then there is Swamp island just below her.

You have to travel a minimum distance away from your spawn point to find them (I think its several thousand metres) in either the black forest or meadows. I found Haldor pretty easy on my current play, he must have been near the minimum distance in some forest on the same land as my spawn. Hildir was also not too much farther, on a small patch of meadows bordering the plains. I think she always spawns like that since she's raided by the nearby enemies.
