The same YouTuber has a very in-depth video on Valheim's smoke mechanics that you should also have a look at, if you want to play with fire.
It does take a little bit of effort to understand the stability mechanics but once you do it's usually pretty straight forward.
I do agree that it is highly annoying that you can't really build a wooden dock because of the rain damaging it. There are mods to disable that but it's obnoxious that there isn't a way to build something with core wood or some other materials that still gives the wood look but doesn't receive rain dmg.
Yeah, and others can say whatever THEY want, too. Goes both ways, you know?
Stability is based on height/pieces from the ground, with some pieces having more or less stability. There is some horizontal stability as well, mostly that stone is bad at it. That's it. It could be more nuanced, but it isn't.
Or you could just mod the build limits out. And the teleport limits for that matter - until we get difficulty settings and that no longer needs a mod.
It's not like you're getting a refund after 100 hours, might as well play it how you like. Or not at all.
Ok so we've gone from "worst building mechanics" to "not perfect". No middle ground there huh?
Say whatever you want, but when you decide to share your opinion don't be surprised when others comment on it, especially when it's that ridiculous.
Being forced to repair your dock periodically or it'll fall apart is ridiculously annoying.
That's a 100% fair criticism of the game.
If you think it's a ridiculous opinion then demonstrate it --- effectively saying "who asked bye" (your previous post) is just going to incite, I don't see the point in even typing it.
Damage caused by rain is limited to 50%, it will not fall apart if you dont repair it. There, demonstrated.
Sorry if my language wasn't clear before, I didn't mean to imply it would literally break itself but it definitely adopts a color change and "broken" look.
That certainly doesn't eliminate that complaint x. x....
