Is their an animal friendly way for moving tamed boars to a different island?
I did already some research, and I want to move my tamed boars from the caught area to my base. However their is some sea between it. After searching some way, the only way seems to harpoon them and drag them on the ship. Can this been done on a more friendly way? I prefer not half-killing my pets.

if you have a longship you could try to build a ramp and push them over it onto the longship.... would be a frustrating undertaking I guess but maybe possible

i built logpole fences and a ramp to get em on boat .. but if they see any enemy they panic and run off the ship.. so short trip and daylight hours..

I'd say build ramp over the Longships deck, with the boat parked parallel to the shore. I managed to get boars onto a boat but they randomly exploded on the boat.

Moving Wolves & Lox is heaps easier though. Same method, less hassle.

I think the only "animal friendly way" is to use dev commands and spawn them yourself.

You could probably use a mod that'll allow you to "store" your tamed animals so they'll just be like an item whilst sailing

I am positive one exists

I never tried but reading this I had the idea to move little pigs into a cart and put them to the ship. As far as I reguarded this, little pigs are not so engaged to run away.
Does the island that your base is on have any meadows? The easiest solution would be to tame additional boars where your base is.

The harpoon will not work on tamed animals. So that method is out the window.

I have yet to succeed with moving boars by ship. The karve is pointless, way too easy to jump overboard. They do not want to be on the boat and try to jump off in order to get back on land.
The long ship mostly keeps them onboard until an enemy is near and they lose their minds and still manage to leap overboard. They aren't too keen on sea serpents, even from a distance. I also tried more than one pig but they love to climb on the back of another one and then jump. I have gotten very close to success twice but when I got close to arrival, there were enemies in the vicinity and the piggy went for a swim. Never saw the little piggy ever again.

Quite frustrating but when I get the chance I shall try again. Why? Just to prove that I can do it.

If you allow friendly fire, you can harpoon them, but they break free.

But it is just impossible, Greyling comes to visit and ruins everything. They are just waiting to die over their in the middle of nowhere.

It's a small black forest island. I wanted a save base, so the events won't do to much damage. Trolls can't even reach anything anymore.

I could catch a deer, but can't tame it. I've build a whole building for the boars, but their is no way to get them over their.

Oops,...I forgot about the friendly fire option. I wonder if that would work while sailing so that they wouldn't jump ship seemingly for no reason. They do not seem to like being on the ship at all.

Wild boars can swim. If there is a narrow spot that you can get a boar to, (you might also be able to build a short bridge and stay dry a little longer) you can swim across (might take a few stamina meads) and it will follow you in the water as long as you stay within 20 meters of it once its alerted.

The other option is to make your pen raid proof by using less than 2 spawn suppressing base objects and just portal there. You can build a work bench, then build another one right at the edge of the coverage circle and build a fence at the edge, push all your boars into the smaller pen, and then replace one of the work benches with a portal.

As long as your pen isn't within 96 tiles of the mountains or plains its then raid proof (all raids except "you are being hunted" require 3 or more base structures and "you are being hunted" can only happen in the mountains or plains) and you can just use the portal to tend your boars.

You could also build a bridge, that got a whole lot easier recently.

Has anyone tried abducting dvergers with the nudge-ramp-boat method? I just found a couple of homeless rogues on a mistland beach, would be nice if I could take them home.
