How can I light a campfire, its been years since I played this game?

Put wood in it.

Its all ready lit when you build it. Adding wood to the maximum allows it to burn longer and adding wood to a fire that has gone out relights it.

If its raining and there is no roof, it wont light.

Also if it's not under sufficient cover it can still go out from the wind while it's raining, even if there's a roof over it.

you first need a building hammer, equip it and right click it and select Miscellaneous and the camp fire icon will be there hover over it and it will show you what you need to make one i think its 2-wood and 5-stones.
