Mods or mod packs
Can anyone suggest a mod pack or mods that they absolutely love and have to have?

Mass farming, Plant Everything, Torches Eternal. Mass Farming actually allows you to plant the large amount of food the game demands and saves you hours and hours and hours of time. I use Thunderstore Mod Manager.

Thunderstore (R2Modman)

Trash Items
Floating Items
Server Side Map
Torches Eternal
Plant Everything
Quick Connect (for servers)
Plant Easily
Equipment and Quickslots
Craft from Containers

Lastly from Nexus Mods (Vortex):

Me, personally I enjoy manually doing the gardening. Cultivating and planting every seed by hand. But I think it makes no sense that we can plant and harvest carrot seeds, but not blueberries or raspberries.

Depends on what your trying for. My Current Modded play-through is using this combo:
  • MistBeGone by Azumatt
  • ResourceUnloadOptimizer by Azumatt
  • balrond_shipyard by Balrond
  • VikingsDoSwim by blacks7ar
  • Fruit_Trees by Horem
  • OdinHorse by OdinPlus
  • GoodestBoy by OdinPlus
  • Clock by RagnarokHCRP
  • Jewelcrafting by Smoothbrain
  • Backpacks by Smoothbrain
  • Warfare by Therzie
  • Monstrum by Therzie
  • Armory by Therzie
  • Jotunn by ValheimModding
    (Dependancy)

Pretty heavy loading but
  • ResourceUnloadOptimizer by Azumatt
  • balrond_shipyard by Balrond
  • VikingsDoSwim by blacks7ar
  • Jewelcrafting by Smoothbrain
  • Backpacks by Smoothbrain
  • Warfare by Therzie
  • Monstrum by Therzie

Are the Core and its proving very entertaining thus far, as we wanted an extended experience this time around, thought I think we'll go back to BetterDiving by MainStreetGaming instead of Vikings do Swim shortly

Valheim Plus covers a lot of tweaks and changes. Take a look at that before any other mod, as there will be overlap.

Heavily disagree with using ValheimPlus. Breaks more often than any other mod due to it basically being a huge amalgamation of mods. Doesn't play well with most popular mods. Very much suggest that you use it only as a very last resort.

[EDIT] One mod I don't see suggested above is "SpeedyPaths". It allows you to specify faster (or slower) speed and slower (or faster) stamina consumption for different biomes and/or roads. Without this mod, making paths and roads is cosmetic only, which never made any sense to me.

Yes, Valheim Plus is still working, as I run a server that uses it. The people developing it are slow to update, so someone else has taken it upon himself to make an unofficial update, which he does usually within 24 hours (but not always). It's great.

I use Valheim Plus along with a two or three other mods. If you have a problem with mods not working well with others, then stop using so many at once.

I don't have that problem... because I don't use Valheim Plus, which is incompatible with many other popular mods, many of which are listed above in this thread.

That listing for it no longer works but there is a newer version of it that does work by Gantapher.

I am aware. Valheim Plus is superior, because of how many tweaks and changes it offers for just one mod.

And if you aren't using every single one of those features, you just have a utility that's more likely to break simply because it covers a wide range of things.

I really don't understand why you would claim having one mods is better than having several. If I have three mods and one gets broken with an update, I can simply disable that mod and keep the others running until there's a fix. If I have one mod that covers everything and it breaks, I can't disable part of that mod and still use the other features.

Add onto that bit of common sense what I said earlier--many popular mods will not run if you have Valheim Plus. You're therefore limiting yourself even further.

You keep thinking that Valheim Plus is deficient. In the meantime, it gets updated much faster than you keep claiming, while the utility it offers is inherently superior.

Keep arguing for the sake of arguing, but you will do it by yourself.

Good day.

That doesn't really address anything I've said, except for the bit about the updates. You're demonstrably wrong on that, because the official Valheim Plus isn't even updated at all anymore. There's a fork of it that's maintained by one guy, and it's been that way for all of two updates. I can only assume you don't know what you're talking about there, to be honest.

To the OP and anyone else looking to get into modding, I sincerely urge you to keep in mind that Valheim Plus will limit your options for including other mods (many of which are mentioned in this thread). If you'd like specific functionality from a part of Valheim Plus, it's quite likely something another mod will be able to provide you.

If you already use Valheim Plus and want to get away from it for the reasons I've laid out, there's a good list of Mods to replace those functions on AzuMatt's Github[github.com].
