the TOTAL world size hasnt probably changed from first EA release,
So the RNG is populating the same size physical world
But they have added more content inside each of the the biomes.
So theoretically the RNG for (Total number of "objects" spawning} across the entire World is the same. but spread differently inside biomes... (well more game inter-active biomes)
well if my theory is right its then LESS "objects" per biome
Additionally the manner, type AND location of those "objects" may have changed...
Yes they added 3 lesser crypts, there is only 1 instance of the old ones left in the RNG, so its a 1 in 4 for an old "Crypt". I Assume they did this cause you can now get Iron in Mistlands.
What do you mean by "lesser dungeon" in this case?
1-2 room Crypts. Rather than the 5+ you used to get most of the time, with the odd "dud" one. TBH they might have been there all along just rare, and they have switched it around to make the large one rare instead :)
After clearing them out, I filled almost 2 longboats full of Iron.
You probably just got super unlucky with your seed. You'll have to really work for that iron gear, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Having everything come easy takes the fun away.
We've actually decided to just spawn in some chests worth of iron at this point. It's simply not fun to deal with the crypt search with how scarce they are now (especially as I get sea sick from sailing, so exploring is a bit difficult). It's not like we haven't done the swamp song and dance in the past anyway.
There was another adjustment after mistland as well. I dont know if it was directly on the density but the total amount of crypts in the world was reduced.
