ballista turret. simple fix
if friendly fire is set on the turret will target you as well as other players if is off they will not target you or other players.
simple right so please do this they are just trash as why make a base defence that makes you an enemy and having to make so many to cover the so many different types of mobs with trophy's.

you can download a mod to do that, honestly i like the option of having friendly fire on/off and also specific targets only as an option. I hate wasting ballista bolts on hares.

ballista got fixed already. it retains a drawback. devs said they dont want fully automated defenses with no downsides in this game. so wont happen. stop asking for it. also this isnt a FIX. its a request for a CHANGE. a fix is only done for actual bugs. this is working as intended. even devs said so.

It is like 2 lines to change it, so it was obviously doable, and quite easily so. Why do you think they didn't change it, then?

Fix implies broken. They work:
add a trophy, its off for you, loot in front. add same trophy, its back on, kills everything.
and if loaded it makes a zone that enemy won't enter unless its a raid.
They don't kill me in one hit even if I forgot food and forgot to turn it off and didn't hear its big loading and about to shoot you racket and was just standing still in front of it.
I mean adding another on/off switch is fine by me, but it already has one.

The Dev's have their vision of how they want it to work, however they left the functionality in the game/code/engine/files etc so that modders can make it fully automated for those that want it.

That's the best of both worlds. I wish more Dev's did this.

For now i've turned off the mod that had the PVP toggle, since i only want them shooting at one thing.

I don't know why you would want to use the turret for most things anyways. I put one up on a plains base, hoping to get rid of the occasional fuling or lox that I would hear outside.

I don't know if it ever hit a fuling. I even drew some into range to see if I could see it work, and it never hit one. I think it did hit a couple of lox, but it just made them mad and they then started attacking my base, so I had to go out and deal with them.

Traps aren't very effective in my experience either, but they do seem a bit better than the ballista. I've had a couple of fuling walk into a couple of traps that I placed in the same area as the balista, and it is comforting to hear one get trapped, but I've walked into it more times then they have!

I think the needing to set it to a trophy is great but having to make enough for all types of mob is nutts and i wouldn't do it. But I do think they should hold Trophies to target certain mobs.

My solution for all sides would be to Make an inventory in the ballistas. Something like 3-5 slots. But you would need to add trophies for them to target and they would be consumed expl... 1 trophy consumed for every 10-20 shots (hit or miss). So I could load a ballista with Greydwarf,GD Shamans and greydwarf brute trophies like 10 each and that would kill 100 of each type. This would use up some of the boxes of trophies we all have and still make a system not fully automated.
