THe Ward represents the radius where the NAP is in effect. The tree was in that radius and thus was their property. Assaulting their property thus, under the NAP required full tactical nuclear retaliation.
Dvergr Crossbowyers are much easier to deal with, if terrain is on your side. As they don't snapshoot their bows, but have 1-2 seconds of aim time where they are committed to the attack, but will happily shoot a wall if you occlude their vision.
There were like three or four crossbow guys without star and two mages, one with one star and the other one without a star.
What I did was to hide behind something when he made his pew pew and then jumped out of my cover to give him a facial surgery. Worked great!
One thing was weird. The other mage was standing at a table at the upper part of the tower and didn´t participate in the fight. I could easily backstab him. Maybe he was too high on eiktr idk.
In hindsight it was not too bad because I could overtake their tower and make it one of my outposts.
Though they might work more like the Goblins and less like the Dvergr, but I hope not. The thing that makes the Dvergr so dangerous is they have some kind of hive mind communication, and if you aggro one, all the bois are comin to roll your ass. At least on a settlement by settlement basis. (I assume their special wards act as some kind of faction hook)
Did you get the blue flash and the noise and ignore it?
I have purposely destroyed one of their wards, and they gave me several warnings before turning on me, although I'm not sure if they turned on me after I destroyed it or before. I think it was after.
Most of the group went down pretty fast, with what appeared to be a healer mage surviving because he stayed inside, and a single rogue that appeared to be stuck on top of the stairs. I saw the mage wasn't doing anything, and I thought the tower was going to collapse, so I finished off the soldier, at which time a seeker came by, so I just got out of there.
When I came back the place was dead, so I assume the rogue was taken out but the seeker.
I got a decent amount of soft tissue from there, so it worked out.
That's what we need! Eitr bombas to craft!!
