Valheim

Little advice for mistlands explorer who search for dverger towns
Be mindful what you do around their tower/town/whatever. I made the mistake to try to cut down an iggdrasil tree nearby and they all aggroed on me because I was inside the radius of their ward .

Those guys are no joke when they all attack at the same time and I died for the first time in this playthrough thanks to them.

Luckily I had a portal nearby and was able to retrieve my stuff and take bloody revenge.

Take care guys, they love their trees or maybe they just become aggressive regardless what you hit in the wards radius idk.

Noted... There's something peculiar about a bunch of dvergr (dwarves) flying into rage over a cut down tree. It's usually the exact opposite in fantasy settings lol.

THe Ward represents the radius where the NAP is in effect. The tree was in that radius and thus was their property. Assaulting their property thus, under the NAP required full tactical nuclear retaliation.

Legit though, Dvergr are the hardest mobs in the game, and it's not even close. 2 Star mages can rain down Armageddon, and in order to have a chance, you need to either highroll Arbalest ambush them, or double team Kromm opener with a buddy. If they start casting spells you might as well just drop your ♥♥♥♥ yourself.

Dvergr Crossbowyers are much easier to deal with, if terrain is on your side. As they don't snapshoot their bows, but have 1-2 seconds of aim time where they are committed to the attack, but will happily shoot a wall if you occlude their vision.

There were like three or four crossbow guys without star and two mages, one with one star and the other one without a star.

What I did was to hide behind something when he made his pew pew and then jumped out of my cover to give him a facial surgery. Worked great!

One thing was weird. The other mage was standing at a table at the upper part of the tower and didn´t participate in the fight. I could easily backstab him. Maybe he was too high on eiktr idk.

In hindsight it was not too bad because I could overtake their tower and make it one of my outposts.

Just wait until the Ashlands, where the Charred are going to essentially be perma-aggro Dvergr lol.

Though they might work more like the Goblins and less like the Dvergr, but I hope not. The thing that makes the Dvergr so dangerous is they have some kind of hive mind communication, and if you aggro one, all the bois are comin to roll your ass. At least on a settlement by settlement basis. (I assume their special wards act as some kind of faction hook)

I've never had that happen before, and I've set off their "alarm" several times trying to make a place to sleep that's close by, although I am not sure that I've tried cutting down a tree. I'm usually trying to make a hole in a rock.

Did you get the blue flash and the noise and ignore it?

I have purposely destroyed one of their wards, and they gave me several warnings before turning on me, although I'm not sure if they turned on me after I destroyed it or before. I think it was after.

Well it was all a bit chaotic but ye there was a noise form the ward and the dvergr were like "you shouldn´t have done this.." and the party began and I was like nooo because i initially wanted to destroy their ward with a cart which went terribly wrong because the entrance was so close to a cliff that my cart fell down there. I followed it down to retrieve it but it was stuck between an ygrasil tree and some sort of ancient armor and I thought why not cut down both at the same time so tbh I´m not 100% sure what really triggered them but I´m sure I was right at the edge of their ward radius.

I recently had a two-story tower completely depopulated and almost collapsed by a single soldier. I found the tower and was preparing my bed just outside the radius, when a soldier must have heard me and decided to investigate. It was late in the day, and I was in no shape to fight a soldier, so I just ran back to the tower, assuming it would be handled and I could get back to my task.

Most of the group went down pretty fast, with what appeared to be a healer mage surviving because he stayed inside, and a single rogue that appeared to be stuck on top of the stairs. I saw the mage wasn't doing anything, and I thought the tower was going to collapse, so I finished off the soldier, at which time a seeker came by, so I just got out of there.

When I came back the place was dead, so I assume the rogue was taken out but the seeker.

I got a decent amount of soft tissue from there, so it worked out.

Your skelebros won't trigger the Dvergr if they hit something of theirs too. The first time it happened was around one with 2 ** mages and 1 ** Arbalest, and I near about shat meself, but I didn't see the bars go red.

I like to waste my time and kite the mobs to their bases for some NPC fights. I've only had to fight them once and it was because I accidentally power slammed their base with my hammer cause I selected the wrong one. Meant to test out where I could place a workbench and grabbed my Demolisher instead.

I just throw puffer fish at them if I want their tower

...or drop a few refined Eitr nades and stand back...same result: eliminate enemy with no aggro--kinda slow, but effective.

That's what we need! Eitr bombas to craft!!
