Buff the elders power
the elder is super useless. even when you first get it. to be useful this power should allow the player to one shot trees to fell them and the same got fallen lumber when you cut it up. the elder is so useless right now. for anyone.

The power is not exciting but the key is very important. Bonemass is the opposite. Getting along without the wishbone is just a minor annoyance, but his power is very good to have. Moder's power is also situational and not always helpful, but without the tears you will be stuck. It balances out.

it would still be useless even if you touched an oak and made it fall to wood directly.
needs a re-think.. to some other power .

I would definitely agree that I never use the Elder's power, nor do I ever use Bonemass' trinket.

Both could use a tweak/buff

I think the elder's power should stay as it is, but add one more effect, that being to increase how much wood you get per tree. That'd make it worth using if you were going to be gathering a lot of wood.

Elders power should be liek others have said.. one hit take out trees.. in 400 hours I've used it once.. I can just chop down my own trees not worth the trip.. make it like "the next 12 swings will knock down any tree with one swing" or "increases chopping speed and damage by 100% and increases carry capacity by 100%"

It could use another different effect, similar to the Queen's power. Increase to regen or max of health or stamina could make it more useful for various tasks, similar to eitr regen. Some kind of life-steal could also fit since the Elder and greydwarves grow in a bloodied land.

I agree. Also, it doesn't make sense that "Tree King" gives you a power to "slaughter" its kind easier.
Maybe it could give you an ability to spawn roots or become immune to water debuff for 5min.

it should give you the power to grow a tight cluster of trees. to used as a wall or for lumber.

I think all powers could stay the same, if they just buff the duration.

The idea behind the powers OK but too low key. Add in a +20 Axe skill and were getting some place: add in "Abominations will not attack unless you do" and we've really got something that could help as the player progresses to the next Biome.

yet another mechanic with incredible potential, but held back by relentless cheapness on the numbers. you're not allowed ever to feel totally powerful

It'd make a lot more sense as a kind of "turn undead" effect for all greyling- forest faction type enemies. The fire aversion mechanic but scaled to a far wider radius so they leave you in peace to cut down their forests. There isn't much point to cutting trees faster when you're interrupted every 5 seconds by a nuisance mob.

It'd also be great if it worked on the abomination (or if chopping damage hurt greylings/abominations as a bonus, being buffed by this ability)

Now that higher tier enemies will spawn in lower tier biomes there isn't any reason to not allow a little bit of power fantasy over the lower end mobs. Being able to use the elder power to hunt abominations or force all trash mobs to flee in a base attack would "feel" good while not really changing the threat (trolls, plains/mist mobs) in these biomes/events.

Could also simply provide increased growth for trees which are planted when the power is active. That kind of thing could actually look pretty impressive compared to some passive benefits, provided there's some animation to tree growth, even mere stretching.
Elder's buff should include mining speed, literally no reason for it to not have that. The buff is incredibly situational, that unless you're building something big, then it's pretty much useless. Having it increase your mining speed would put it on par, at least imo, along side Eikythir and bonemass. So when you go mining for iron, or silver, you can either pick a safe, defensive buff like bonemass in case you get overwhelmed, or risk it and use elder's to speed up the mining process without having a safety net. That makes it balanced, much less situational and overall more useful.

I know the Queen's buff provides it, i haven't explored the mistlands yet, but i do know that it involves ants and it makes sense for it to increase mining speed, since they're ants, but it's just way too far into the game, so unless ashlands and the deep north have more mining than the previous biomes combined, then it's quite redundant that far in, not to mention that at that stage your mining skill should be quite high so it's less needed. Replace the mining speed instead with a bonus to your tamed animals (bonus attack damage, movement speed etc) and give it to the Elder buff on top of cutting power. Simple change, but i know that the devs would be incredibly hesitant on doing such a change.
