Christmas Stuff gone... why... WHY?
Seriously... i just don't get it. Why are you removing the christmas decorations? It was nice. It had been fun. Now you've removed it. You can no longer build it. just leave it in there for everyone who wants to build it because they thought it was so beautiful?
Sorry,.. but this is just stupid, to annoy your players.

If you really, really want to decorate with Christmas gear still, using the nocost dev command still lets you build them (and all other holiday exclusive items)

They should remain in place if you built them during holidays. My yule tree is still there at any rate.

I don't get why they added the seasonal stuff into the game in the first place. Felt misplaced to me. Same with the hot tub.

They should've gone all-in and nuked those from saves after season is over.

all they do is remove it from build menu. existing ones stay, one of my homes has a hallf dozen halloween turnips for lighting because they were really nice lights.

I agree, if they are going to take them away they should remove them from current saves. I also agree that it is a weird mechanic to have seasonal items, and they should just all be available all year. But....... if they are going to take away the ability to build them they should remove the ones that are already built also.

If people complain that they were removed they can just add them again with dev commands if they want them so bad.

respectfully that is too unfriendly. I think they nailed it -- leave existing alone, and prevent new ones out of season, with them coming back available each year. Breaking stuff, esp stuff that was just for fun/silliness, just feels harsh and against the whole spirit of the 'this was for fun' toys. And thinking from a released game perspective, and casual players ... they are not gonna dev command, they are just going to complain if you do that to them -- in large numbers, most likely.

I don't get why people are saying they should "remove existing" ones that are built. There are a whole lot of games with seasonal events. NONE of them that I've ever played remove the seasonal things players have already gotten when they remove the event that lets you get them in the first place.

What, specific, reason makes people think they should remove already built ones? It makes zero sense.

Exactly the reasons they should not be removed from build menu.

I wouldn't mind having them removed. I think I'd prefer it so, but I suppose complaints would be made.

There should never had been Xmas stuff in the first place. NOT everyone believes in that fairy tale.

to be fair, most of christmas is originated from asatru but i dont think any of these yule items was

Vikings did not have "Christmas", obviously, but they did decorate evergreen trees in winter, so the tree is fitting. As is the wreath, though they adopted that from the Romans. Much of what we consider "Christmas" today has it's origins in Viking culture and other than perhaps the presents to put under the tree all of the event items actually are appropriate.

goodness, we gonna go all south park & ruin christmas here?
billions of people celebrate it. 90% of those have no religious motivation, its just a fun season with foolishness, food, and loot for most.
If you don't like the tree, don't place one, or -- I stuffed mine under the floor for the bonus but will never see it again.

lots of games have seasonal silliness. People enjoy this stuff, and its harmless. I set off virtual fireworks/lightshows for dwali (sp?) too, and I am not hindu.

i still have the ones i build. but even if they got removed i wouldnt care. why? its ONE MINUTE more rested buff. ONE DAMN MINUTE. the buff already lasts longer than 1 day without this already. which is all you need. as you should go home to sleep each night anyway to avoid night troubles and well portals let you do that stupid easy.

same with the maypole thingy. not worth limiting your base spot just for that 1 extra minute of the buff.

especially when you refresh the buff in any damn dungeon nearby for atleast 10 minutes with just a campfire. this is clearly people overreacting.
