first off the devs already changed some of this in the new patch. infested mine enemies and royal jelly piles will now respawn.
i fully agree that zero dungeon respawn feels off. atleast for enemies. chests and ore not respawning is part of the experience tough.
they added new sources of copper and iron in the mistlands aswell.
and tbh depleting an entire worlds resources? how? your base would be giant and fully finished long before that can happen. port marble has consumed like 10000 marble by this point already and its still not close to finish but i havent even explored 25% of the map or my mistlands biomes in total. its gonna be finished LONG before i would run out for certain.
youre also clearly not supposed to make ALL single pieces off gear and weapons for everyone aside maybe the armors. the weapons are "pick your choice and roll with it for a good while" other than that the pickaxe and bow are all you need. later on you dont even need the bow if you wish.
but it depends. people who mod and play with like 50 players in 1 world will run out for certain as the map was not designed for so many players in the first place. but that isnt the fault of the devs. if you change the player cap its your problem in the end.
need to deal with it.
and aslong as you are not 5+ people you probally can get enough ressources in 20 reallife hours to equip everyone even with the worse rng.
just so you know
trolls inside caves dont respawn either, just the outside once do.
so the changes to mistland would be out of gamelogic sofar.
only plants replenish normally in the gamelogic.
like glowing mushrooms in crypts.
Using that as an example, it's a bit of both for most things. By allowing players to decide where regrowth occurs, they solve two "problems" with one feature: Make regrowth possible while allowing players to decide how it occurs.
I wouldn't be surprised if the earlier dungeons were later changed to provide some replayability and renewability of resources, but I don't think it's a matter of the present. Mistlands dungeons will be inconsistent in this regard, but considering how they are populated by what is essentially a living super-organism of insects, it's not that outlandish IMO.
And to make the mountain side-grade armor, you need the ITEMS from there, not monster drops ;)
