Do enemies in ice caves respawn?
Hoping they do as its a bit bs to get the gear for everyone in a server if they don't.

Edit for dev response: So its even worse than I imagined as you need claws fur & trophies for gear...

AFAIK no enemies in dungeons respawn currently, but they are going to change that for mistlands dungeons.

nope, ive suggested change regarding respawning resources and more loot sources from enemies and etc on the discord but its pretty much full of fanboy shills who will defend every bad scope of the game that needs change for improved balance

some even have this persistent idea that the replayability of this game is to consume the world to create new ones again and again, the first biome surprisingly dont have this issue which covers both copper, tin and bronze

where as just one tier above and beyond, youre suddenly have these issues where youre depleting the entire worlds natural resources

first off the devs already changed some of this in the new patch. infested mine enemies and royal jelly piles will now respawn.

i fully agree that zero dungeon respawn feels off. atleast for enemies. chests and ore not respawning is part of the experience tough.

they added new sources of copper and iron in the mistlands aswell.

and tbh depleting an entire worlds resources? how? your base would be giant and fully finished long before that can happen. port marble has consumed like 10000 marble by this point already and its still not close to finish but i havent even explored 25% of the map or my mistlands biomes in total. its gonna be finished LONG before i would run out for certain.

youre also clearly not supposed to make ALL single pieces off gear and weapons for everyone aside maybe the armors. the weapons are "pick your choice and roll with it for a good while" other than that the pickaxe and bow are all you need. later on you dont even need the bow if you wish.

but it depends. people who mod and play with like 50 players in 1 world will run out for certain as the map was not designed for so many players in the first place. but that isnt the fault of the devs. if you change the player cap its your problem in the end.

Admittedly I never did like the resource "scarcity" when it comes to multiplayer. It's not an issue in single player, but it can become incredibly apparent on certain resources in multiplayer (especially in larger groups). When I first started I started on a multiplayer with friends and most of us started in separate bases but ultimately had to converge just to have resources for everyone. Of particular note we had issues with cores super early in progression (not enough crypts on the starting continent for each person to have at least 5 cores for their ore setups (even with swapping between kiln and furnace as needed), until one of hit swamps and made a core farm to share with everyone else. Then came the swamp crypts where everyone basically needed their own personal swamp to supply enough iron for at least the armor and long ship (and those have seemingly gotten rarer since then). Then silver was another issue where each player needed their own decently large mountain for the same needs (those are more common now thankfully since way back then was before the caves update). Our original server setup was intended to be a "no cheat" setup, which included not world hopping with your toon, but that just proved unreasonable when you have more than like 3-4 players on a server. Possible, perhaps, but not worth the effort.

its just bad/good/normal gamedesign logic.
need to deal with it.
and aslong as you are not 5+ people you probally can get enough ressources in 20 reallife hours to equip everyone even with the worse rng.

just so you know
trolls inside caves dont respawn either, just the outside once do.
so the changes to mistland would be out of gamelogic sofar.
only plants replenish normally in the gamelogic.
like glowing mushrooms in crypts.

Using that as an example, it's a bit of both for most things. By allowing players to decide where regrowth occurs, they solve two "problems" with one feature: Make regrowth possible while allowing players to decide how it occurs.

I wouldn't be surprised if the earlier dungeons were later changed to provide some replayability and renewability of resources, but I don't think it's a matter of the present. Mistlands dungeons will be inconsistent in this regard, but considering how they are populated by what is essentially a living super-organism of insects, it's not that outlandish IMO.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Well, the cultists trophy is needed ;) And after countless Cultists dropped...well, i've never seen one. This is among 4 players playing all the way through Mistlands and me personally hunting down ice caves....
