Lox?
I've done 4 play-through in this game and am having issues on this one.
For the life of me, no matter what plain's biome I go into, I can't seem to find a single lox, like.... anywhere. No pelts, no meat, no trophy, sad player.

I did notice this. I saw only two lox and now I seem to have a few spawning about. I managed to get a pair spawned near my plains base that I was able to tame. Definitely worth it, although they need an absolutely huge field.

I found lox in the other three worlds I've been in, 2 of them with mods. But this time around, no Loxxy :( It could be a mod affecting it but I am not sure which one. I turned Fantasy creatures off and then loaded the game again and nothing changed, so I reenabled it. Every other creature in the game is there, but no Lox sightings yet.

In the other worlds I was in Lox were very plentiful, not sure if it's something the Dev's changed in a recent patch.

I don't think my mod is affecting it because the death bugs and the fullings are still spawning like grasshoppers.

Plenty of Lox in all the decent sized Plains I've encountered in my most recent playthrough. Either really unlucky RNG...or more likely, a mod conflict.

I think the game uses the placeholder model at least in part, where there are X spawn spots in an area and the spawn spots can support X monsters each, such that if a group of fulings are over here, you cant get a lox there until you kill them. Once killed, an undetermined time later a lox could spawn, or more furbys or squitos etc instead.
Try killing everything all the time, see if it helps.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll check it out :)

Just kill plains enemies and find something to do while they all respawn. I think you're just very unlucky.

Lox and Seeker spawns are weird. You can run through an entire area and not see a single one but if you turn around, you're staring at its butt.

I've been noticing Lox seem...delayed? I guess? They do show up in my game but so far i have arrived to a plains to find lox already there about twice since i started playing again (in both cases, absolutely massive plains biomes so its possible they spawned while i as exploring and just happened to already be there by the time i looked their direction). The rest of the time when i find them Im hanging out nearby a plains doing something like building and turn around to find a herd that wasnt there a second ago uncomfortably close to the framework of the base im trying to lay out.
They don't seem to have blocked spawns though. I had found one of those "islands" where it's basically just a single rock sticking out of the water, but it counted as plains so i decided THAT was going to be my plains farm island. Was leveling everything out and expanding the actual landmass of the island when i took my workbench down to move it closer to the other side i wanted to work on and in just that moment the workbench was down, boom, sudden lox on my tiny rock, me: "now wait a minute, let's talk ab-*splat*" so uh, that went well lol. Of course since this was just a tiny rock i was actively trying to make buildable at the time, no portal or anything set up there yet to return with either (because i figured the workbench had me covered, was not expecting death to spawn in the 5 steps it took me to replace the bench, lesson learned).

Pro tip. Clear out a filing village and lox usually end up moving in
