Valheim

Similar building games for solo players?
I like the concept of starting from nothing and using resources to go from wood to stone to bronze etc. but it seems like the game ends too fast. There is no real reason to build a massive fort or maintain anything... or explore after getting all the iron you need. I stopped playing and started again only because I wanted to remodel my compound, not to explore mistlands or craft new weapons.

I love building in Ark, which is also way more lively than Valheim and there you also can get helpers with resource-farming.

And i heard that Conan seems to have the best Building-mechanics. Althought i don't know how the system there works with farming and stuff~.

Wurm Online will certainly do as it got seperate parts for about everything. However, it's grid based, so not everything is possible.

I would second Terraria. I was extremly sceptical at first because it was a side scroller but damn its a lot of fun. it has tons of stuff in it like materials and recipes to find, NPC's, bosses, accessories etc and I find myself playing that a lot more than Valheim these days.

Its close enough to scratch the itch but at the same time different enough to make Valheim feel refreshing when you boot it up.

Screw Terraria! Put your GPU to use!

Try V Rising, you won't be disappointed. Clearer objectives, great progression, lot's of exploring and building, much more balanced to play solo than Valheim. Join a PvE server.

I was gonna recommend ark when I checked to see if you already owned it(so as not to mistakenly recommend it if you already did) but then I saw this:

You made a pretty similar thread last summer about Ark and claimed only 5 min playing it. So I have to say that likely it just may be there's a conflict of wants/reality of games like Valheim/Ark for you?

maybe you played too long ago?
if you stopped at iron, you have missed out on
- dark wood
- black marble
- modern lighting
and probably a number of things I can't think of right now.

Tell me, can you build a 2 or 3 story building in V rising? Can you build anywhere you want? Also how many biomes are there in V rising?

If you like the sci-fi theme, Satisfactory is a fun builder but it is mostly building factories (obviously).
Empyrion is a survival builder. You build not only bases but ships, hover crafts and space stations. You have to find resources on other planets so you need to progress enough to get off world. It is integrated with Steam Workshop and has a creative mode so you can build and test all you like. It will scratch almost any builder itch you might have.
There are others like Creativerse which is a Minecraft like builder but with better graphics and different mechanics.
This guy has playlists of so many builders to play! Good luck!

i love building bases in the subnautica games
If you don't mind a space game rather than a medieval game you might want to try No Man's Sky. The graphics are fantastic though you'll probably want to wait for a sale.
