2* seeker kills me with 165 health and T4 Padded armor in 3 hits..
I don't think I could have been anymore prepared.. I even used my health pot it didn't tick fast enough to replenish my health before the 3rd hit.

go in abandoned mine with a friend and we are doing well. I have a T4 Black metal Atgier and a T4 Draugr bow.. frost arrows and full T4 Padded armor and T4 wolf cloak.. we were cruising.. came across a 2* seeker.. OMG.. I literally could not get out of the way they attacked so fast.. 3 hits in like maybe 5 seconds DEAD.. can't even imagine how hard a 2* seeker soldier is.. those take a year to kill at 0*.

You got slaughtered, its frustrating its annoying I get it

But maybe try again a couple times before deciding its too hard,

Too many people want the best of everything with no effort, People wanna be the biggest and baddest thing on the block with no sacrifice And far too many people wanna beat any enemy on the first try or with one hit

Its advertised as a hardcore survival game. IDK why people want it to be so easy

Easy makes it boring.

Yea looking back. I think it was just super situational.. spent the rest of the entire time in Mistlands last night with 0 deaths. Also, now I have omelette, meat platter and a few other crazy foods.

Also have not seen another 2 star anything at all.. if I do in the future might just avoid it altogether ha.

I avoid them too or try to get them by themselves, but sometimes its unavoidable

Just make sure you slap a portal somewhere kinda close so (and safe) so you can get your stuff faster

For those not so familiar with Valheim, Mistlands is not End Game. It is only biome 6 of 9 (ocean, far north and ashland are yet to come, well upgrade to ocean as it is pretty basic atm). It is in fact currently the end of the game, but it is NOT end game.
Making the difficulty so folks with rl is maybe an iffy decision on the dev's part since I don't care how they billed this game, it has never been "brutal" and this is from a really old player. Changing up the difficulty level at this point seems odd to me but I question the relevance of Mistlands in overall game's development anyway. My opinion only. Your mileage may well vary.

I want to point that gear isn't full upgraded yet, just level 2. So Mistlands is going to be easier in a future when devs add the next upgrades to gear, as with any other biome.

Not gonna lie. Most people defending the difficulty of this game are die hard 'souls' players that think everything should be a slog fest. As an average person with a life outside of gaming the difficulty is just too high for average gamers and the Devs need to label it as such. I just got swarmed by 3 1* seekers that knocked me into water and killed me. That's happening so many times now it's just not worth it.

god forbid the end game requires you to utilize some defensive mechanics, how dare this game just not cater to this casual average gamer you describe that would rather put a blindfold on and spam the attack button and have the game beat itself. Clearly the devs are catering to those die hard souls fans since dark souls games are the only other game with combat mechanics that are evolved beyond spamming attack to win

You can't have defensive mechanics in water. Sword and shield combo are my favorite in most games so 'get gud' doesn't work here. Parrying is how I've killed most things up to now since spawning in meadows. What we're talking about here is that enemies can attack in full force in water, the player can not do anything other than swim and swim harder. This exaggeration of 'blind folded easy mode' is just that, there has to be some challenge in playing a game for it to be fun but acting like we're talking about the Olympics is too much. There's a comment talking about making the mist only at the entry into the Mistlands and then once on the main landmass the mist dissipates which could alleviate some turmoil among players. The other would be to lessen mob damage to black stone structures and make it so mobs can no longer attack while swimming the same as the player.

A number of enemies will move slower in water. Knowing where water is and when it's a good time to choose to go swim around in it (either for picking up drops or having to cross some water) plus having good food are rather important and can make the game less difficult. You can also probably use health potions in the water as well - though I personally don't know since I haven't had such a need to use one while swimming.

Maybe a swimming potion could be added or if the Ocean biome is expanded maybe you could have items that make swimming a little faster or less stamina used. Perhaps even weapons / shields that can be used in deep water.

Of the three things mentioned my only issue is with the Mist and how I hope the Wisp Light / Torch will be improved with a greater radius or ability to upgrade the light with a little more silver / wisps so you could have an improved one that you use and some basic back up ones should you die.

Don't get hit by any 2* ever is my advice :D but seriously players need to be aware of their surroundings more than before. IMO having more stamina than health is better because then you can simply move more and when the rested buff runs out it's better to run away from the Mistlands. I have faced 2* Seekers only at night so the seem to be similar to wolves.

You got to read the entire thread to understand our discussion. It was multiple seekers attacking at once knocking me off a ledge into deep water with step cliffs that can't be traversed. The potion idea for faster swimming is an excellent idea but I fear players would abuse this as in not bothering to build a boat. Also being aware of surroundings is problematic since the mist is meant to prevent LOS in a biome full of cliffs and deep water. just simply make it to where mobs can't attack in water unless they are designed to be water only mobs.

I love the being aware of surroundings - that you can't see, even as you are being booted off them into said water. There is a swimming potion and it is called stamina. But, you are wet. Health is not nearly as important in the water as stam, unless it is ungodly high, just means you drown a tiny bit slower, but still 2' from shore.

I didn't have the feather cape for some time so when moving around in Mistlands I was extra careful to manage my stamina and be wary of my positioning. Fighting on a cliff I would only do that if going against like 1-2 normal seekers and maybe a 1 star though it would depend on the terrain itself whether it's level or not. I'd also only fight in a high area if avoiding a soldier and thus splitting the fight when dealing with a seeker or maybe a Gjall.

I don't think I died due to water in my singleplay run through of the game. Usually I'd use it to my advantage like fighting fulings where you can jump across some water and that makes them move super slowly allowing for easier engagements against multiple foes. Seekers I'd just sprint a second when they use their fly attack and you avoid it easily.

The kind of water people are talking about isn't where you're swimming across a pond, it's where you run up and over some cliff in a panic and land in the ocean next to a rock wall. :steamhappy:

Oh I'm aware of such water which is why I don't really like Mistlands that much because the terrain being so jagged can make shorelines less reliable which means being more careful of stamina management to me. Combined with the limited vision the pace in moving around in Mistlands is a complete 180 from Plains lol. Scrabble around for awhile until I hit a certain amount of stamina just in case - and then scrabble around a bit more hoping to stumble across an Infested Mine.

Once more I haven't had the issue what with dying in the waters of Mistlands - at least to my recollection. It was a bit of an adjustment being used to the previous biome of my 2nd last base which was situated on the edge of a plains right by a swamp which was nice for enemy drops + a lot of extra iron for my last base on a plains some distance from a mistlands.

Trying to find Yagluth I'd just boat around with a portal and then sprint everywhere looking around for his arena or a sign marker.

I am not using a shield.. I think the idea that you HAVE to use a shield to parry or else you are dead is one of the concepts about this game I strongly dislike. So I have no issues with the fact that I have no "skill" in parry blocking.. because I'm not even trying.. regardless 3 hits from anything in this game shouldn't kill me if I am in top tier gear.

Back in my day 1 Hit was all you had or you dead.. so 3 hits is super lucky if u ask me

Yeah 2 star seekers hit pretty hard. Me & a friend got 2 shot (he got 1 shot) as it broke through my block, and we had to do a nudie run through with all 4 of us to grab our gear back, all with 1 caster, 1 in silver gear, and the 2 of us that ot sniped were meant to be the melee tanks. Got 3 black cores out of it though, worth it.

Currently farming the 2 new mushrooms for better foods & fishing/serpent hunting as well as training up the skills I lost. On my single player world I think I'll take some 2 star wolves with me on the boat when I go back in, I got scores to settle.
