Look again at the video. I'm not sure if this is how Valheim worked before the update but stride length is affected by what you are wearing and holding. If I wear leather armor and move hands-free then I can cover 20 stone floor tiles in about 16 strides. If I wear padded armor and hold a hammer I cover 20 stone floor tiles in about 20 strides. Those additional strides makes it appear to be moving faster but actual distance/time is better when employing fewer strides. A nice optical illusion.
