Not sure about adding mobs/loot, but Valheim Plus is my must-have mod. It's like 30 QOL mods all mixed into one, but the biggest thing about it is that you activate each thing individually. This means you can tweak tons of things exactly how you like it without it being as rigid as other mods.

For example, want to make mining more bearable? Why bother searching for other mining mods when you could specifically increase durability of only pickaxes, reduce stamina cost to use pickaxes, and specifically increase the drop chance of mined resources? You can do that with V+.

Want more difficulty? You can tweak things like having a multiplayer multiplier on at all times, decrease exp gain, make food degrade faster, make items weigh more, have fewer inventory slots, decrease durability of weapons/armor, decrease defense values of armor, and much more. Whatever "increase difficulty" means to you. All options in V+.

And all of this is changed in a simple text file in notepad, with each section clearly explaining how to do so, and how your changes affect the game. Very user-friendly.

Depends on the mod. I at least know Valheim Plus is updated already.

And the only other mod I currently use is Instant Monster Loot Drop. It does what it says. No need to wait for the corpse to poof.

Hey there,

please remember that as of now modding is not officially supported. It's done at your own risk, there are no guarantees for future compatibility. Please keep backups of your save files before you start modding. If you need technical support, please always include a full list of active AND prior mods, since that can influence the game's behaviour with regard to bugs.

Have a good day!

You can find them on Nexusmods. They also have a helpful mod manager to make it easy to install and manage mods.

Recommendation don't use mods play the game the way it is if you don't like it play something else.

Recommendation don't tell others they shouldn't play their games how they like.

For more difficulty: creature level and loot control mod. Amazing mod that increases difficulty in 3 different ways. The first one is distance from the center of the map. The second difficulty scaling is sector level. Sector level scaling increases stars of mobs as you keep killing them in a single sector. And the third difficulty scaling increases with the world days.
For more mobs I'm not sure which mods are working now since the last patch had a big impact on this kind of mods
For easier mining you can use veinmine which allows you to collapse the while node with a single hit. I don’t like this one and i would rather use mining skill which increases the yield as you improve your mining skill. The same author have mods for other skills as well. For example one of mods i like is sailing skill which can make your sailing speed faster and increase exploration radius.
Keep in mind that mods are not well optimized and if you combine more mods you will need to do a lot of tweaking.

I'm sure others use FAR more than I do, but I try to keep it as close to the game as built as as possible, so I pretty much stick to things that are just 'Quality of Life' improvements and not anything that gives me any advantage. As such, I only use the following:

MassFarming - just makes farming more bearable
CraftFromContainers - makes crafting more bearable
