you can change whatever you want, BUT if you swap the keys with that tool, it will still show binds ingame how they are in default. you would need to wait for devs to allow configering it or mod it.
the build in tool also has alot of community made configs, that you can use or modify.
in libary rightclick the game, preferences
controller tab
general controller settings
a new window opens up.
check around in it
also midplaying you can do changes in the steamoverlay.
