Just gotta run around combing the plains until you find something that looks like Stonehenge.

We've found multiple of those. They we're all empty..

There should've been a vegevisir on the side of one of the stones at those locations.

I found the altar itself before finding a vegvisir, it's not mandatory to find the runestone.

I've managed to find multiple vegvisirs of each boss except Yagluth's. I found some Stonehenge sites but none had a vegvisir. I was able to defeat Yag by stumbling upon its altar.

There are some forts/castles in the plains, if you are lucky they have a location stone.

We've are pro players and we found it pretty easy because our team leader Petri is good.

Took me several plains to find one, as well. A few towers and henges from earlier plains had nothing. My problem now is that I can't seem to get a shaman to drop a frigging totem, so I can't summon Yagluth even though I now know where to find it.

The shaman do not drop them that I know of... it's the berserkers that will drop them (rarely).

A couple times I too have found the altar before finding the vegvisir. To be fair, I have missed it before. Found a stonehenge with "nothing" and moved on only to notice it later from a different angle because it was tucked flat up against a stone in a way I'd not seen before.

Seems like they are intentionally making the vegvisirs more and more rare as the biomes progress.

A couple times I've used the map website to show me the "boss stone" locations only to see a few in an area I new I had explored. Went back and checked the coordinates and, yeah, I had missed it.

It's actually easier finding the boss arena than it is those stones. Look for something that looks like a hand of stone coming out of the ground. It's unmistakable.

Luckily I always found altar instead of vegvisir.
In this update you can touch hint stone located at altar and get mark on the map
Just set distance render setting to max and look for 5 curved stones - that's the altar
