So it's a little bad luck and a little being ill-prepared. There's various ways you can tackle that situation. It's easy enough to kite the abomination away, jump up onto a tree where neither can get you and shoot the thing dead, or you can use an axe/spear and shield combo and take it out in about 10 seconds - he's easy to block and stagger. Getting up high can also assist with solo-ing BM but the best mace you can manage and frost arrows do superb damage on him and the minions he summons.
The /killall command kills EVERYTHING so... no, that's not really a fair fight. ;)
Often enough it's just a lack of knowledge that's the issue, like those that aint aware craftbenches prevent spawning within their areas and thus you can make tiny treehuts with them in a lil everywhere in swamp making it extremely peaceful if you want.. for whatever reason. =p
(Last I checked the actual field is rather a sphere than a cylinder,so don't put em too high, just enough that whatever you pull in won't start tearing em down.)
Iron armor should reduce the damage from truck to manageable, if you're willing to use /killall to put them down, i don't think you'd snub at the key bypass to get iron armor.
I don't go after bone mass till I have the frostner just because I dislike the fight that much. Its not the difficulty, its the environment.
Game offers plenty of ways to handle whatever ♥♥♥♥ it throws at you, that anyone can manage aslong as they're aware without having to rely on any cheats.
Sure,it's alot faster progressing without doing any prepwork and some do like the more challenging aspect of that compared to preparations, there are also some that dislike it and rather spend time on preparations for them to enjoy the game.
Bit like how in other games some like to completely annihilate their foes and others like to just take out key things and win by enemy retiring or such, which are two wholly different timespans per match usually.
Prep: lvl 3 bronze armor, root helm, lvl 3 iron mace w/ bronze shield, poison resist potion, yada yada... My problem is that an abomination spawned in the middle of my solo fight with Bonemass, they ended up stacking on top of each other. It's not possible to kite only 1 of them away. If I stand and fight, I would be stamina starved to my death.
I did a /killall and respawned BM and beat him fair and square.
No...
There are a plethora of videos on youtube on how to take down bonemass in multiple ways.
Many of those ways would make the spawn of an abomination also a non issue too.
Just one example is raising the ground near bonemass's spawn standing atop the high pillar of ground and sledge hammering til dead. This also would of course damage any abomination in the vicinity to the point of eventually killing it too.
All in all this is just something you have to learn to sort. Its doable.
Farm a little more iron to full lvl a iron set , it gives you like 25 more defense , mace is broken vs bonemass ( and later mobs of mountain ) but do nothing vs abomination , a bronze axe at full lvl do more damage against that
And dont use root mask + anti poison me/ad , doesnt stack and me/ad gives more resist
