Problem with Eitr Refinery
Why does the Eitr Refinery send out energy that damages built pieces near it? I originally placed this inside my base and it did a lot of damage and destroyed some pieces. Even placing it outside it still show out energy that did damage, not to mention destroying nearby workbenches.

Can this be changed to do no damage?

Yeah it's very annoying. The only thing you can so so far is building a cage with marble and put the refinery in there, because the marble doesnt take damage. make sure to make the cage big enough, because you still need an entrannce to walk in there and to out the materials into the refinery

could you not just dig a hole and place it inside? or make a basement for it?

you can build black marble around it, it doesn't seem to damage that.

digging a hole works. I also raised earth around a section and put it in there.

Black marble floor and iron cage walls and ceiling work well. Zero damage. You can then enclose the marble/iron structure with a wood or stone building but the refinery won't take damage from weather. I've seen some suggestions about putting it into your moat if you have one.

I dug a pit behind my workshop and covered the top with iron floor. It's fun to walk by and watch it do Mad Science. Sometimes a spark escapes the gap between the iron and the side of the pit. Random fireworks! Being outside isn't terrible for it. I sometimes repair the iron when I go by, but it doesn't really need it.

I just need more than five cores so I don't have to keep tearing things down and rebuilding.

If you decide to put it in a black marble basement make sure you leave a 1m gap between the top of the refinery and the floor above. If you fail to do this the refinery will spawn sparks inside the floor above it and they will pass right through it and damage stuff on the floor above.

Magic radiation I guess. I built a black marble enclosure for mine since black marble is immune to the damage. Basically just a box with a built-in black marble staircase so I can feed the hopper up top. Only parts that are exposed are the hopper, the sap intake, and the output chute.
I enclosed mine in marble and put Radiation ☢️ symbols all around it. 😇🔥👍

I stuck it up high on some regular stone pieces I already had, and some wooden ladders for access. Drastically reduced hits in base, random fireworks into the night sky, and it took less than two minutes. Since it doubles as my Galdr table making it fancy was pointless.
