Blueprints?
Hi there.

I am not much of a builder, and was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not the devs have plans to introduce blueprints at some point to the game, just as you have in Empyrions.

It would save the work for lazy and lame builders like myself, also allowing other players to use all those wonderful structures from talented people who know what they are doing.

I suck at building myself. So I go for functionality. There are vids on YouTube that show simple buildings and how to make them. I use those to start and tweak them as I get more material and want a break from exploring.

Below is what I built combining two examples I found on YouTube. It started out 24 meters long, 6 meters wide. I actually amazed myself. Maybe someday I'll do more to it but I doubt it.

My buildings have functionality and are structurally sound first, and then after that, I add more dimensionality to the structure, and more decor

I think the terrain would be too intrusive. In Empyrion, a few steel hull block pilings on the underside can give a BA sufficient structural integrity on just about any spot. Valheim, though, has you building in much more uneven ground with much finer components. Supporting buildings is a unique challenge every time. The burden of flattening the terrain enough to place a building blueprint so it doesn't immediately collapse would almost be as much work as making something new, and significantly less entertaining to do.

To a player having trouble making their first survival cabin, I'd give the same advice I give shipbuilders in Empyrion; start with the part that does the structure's main job. For a Valheim cabin, that means a campfire to provide comfort. Flatten a spot with a hoe and stick a campfire on it. Then, build floor sections around the campfire to make the basic floor plan. Make sure these are supported underneath with short timbers in the ground if the floor itself doesn't touch it. From there, you can move your workbench onto the floor, build whatever walls, doors, and roofs you need. A simple hole in the top of a wall by the roof can serve as your chimney. Your second one will have fewer flaws. Your third one will look nice. You'll just get better and better from there.
