Valheim

Translate italian.
Hi. I am interested in buying it but I saw that the game has been almost translated into all languages except Italian, I got nervous. Is it possible to know if in the future you are interested in translating it into this language too? Thank you.

I do not accept the answer that the Italian market is not attractive.

This is a perfectly valid answer from a business point of view. How much do you think a translator would cost to localize the while game? How many additional sales would an Italian version generate?

AFAIK they incorporate community translations so get on it ;)

This is more of a commercial request and a matter of principle. "Why let the community translate the game" I say? Why not make a minimum of effort to finish their task, wrong or not, including the development of the translations, otherwise what good would a group of developers who develop the game but do not complete it with the translations for would be a half game.

How is adding an Italian version "finishing their task"? What about the next language? And the next one? Are they supposed to offer a localization for all languages in the world?

Developers ( and any business really) make the decision to invest in localization based on cost and potential ROI of the market, they don't owe anyone anything.

Unfortunately, economic interests always prevail. Thanks but I prefer to find something else.

So if this small team of developers chooses to apportion their limited time to the major task at hand, which is finishing biomes, instead of making sure there is a translation into Klingon, that is some kind of defect.

I was sympathetic until this.

Hey folks,

please keep it civil.

Thanks & have a good day!

I apologize to everyone for this sentence.
"I do not accept the answer that the Italian market is not attractive".

It was not my intention to develop a discussion that would degenerate like this.

I want to emphasize that mine was just a question and a request made directly to the
developers.
Nefrarya Aug 6, 2022 @ 6:49am
The original question probably won't find an answer here, since the devs rarely comment directly. Asking on the Valheim Discord could give better results.

OP, if you want to make the suggestion for an Italian translation, please make a post in the Suggestions & Ideas sub-forum.

DM Lumah. He's responsible for translations. In case you can't DM, let us know.
Mirtillosecco Aug 6, 2022 @ 7:16am
Sorry I don't know much English.
Is it possible to shift this discussion into suggestions? or do you advise me to open another one? I don't know how to contact DM Luma.
Munin Aug 6, 2022 @ 7:45am
Join the Valheim Discord and send a message to Lumah. But I already have to tell you: If you don't speak good English, you will not be able to help with translations. This requires a professional level of both languages, Italian & English.

Edit: I think I misunderstood, you just wanted to know whether an English translation is planned, right? Can tell you soon, currently waiting for an answer.
