Lox Breeding? Mixed google results.

I read that it's not possible, but the posts are from 2021. Another tells that it is, but one clarifies that by befriending one, the surrounding ones become friendly. So I'm not sure if some results are counting that as breeding and just using the wrong words or I'm misinterpreting.
I also wasn't sure if a recent update made it possible or if it isn't still.

Hi Lox breeding is possible now, and the babies are super cute! No idea about the others become tame idea though no direct observation of that!
As an aside tamed Lox can now be ridden with the appropriately crafted saddle

totally tame-able.. but they can escape easily low earth walls not enough... they chase deer, and almost any other mob.. if you have a small plains area earth wall them in but its a lot of work or they wander! but very cute.. and hard to "push around" esp when they climb the earth walls

You can tame and breed them, and their offspring will be friendly. As Cap'n Bells said, you'll want to wall them in to keep them safe because they'll fight just about anything and will often die after a while due to constant deathsquitos spawning and attacking them.

Drop cloudberries or barley close by them (sneaking helps!) and wait nearby; any Lox that eat (usually you drop food for a pair/trio) will show little yellow hearts - this means it's taming! You can sneak close to check your progress, but it's dangerous. Once you have a tame pair, they'll start breeding (as long as they aren't Hungry or too far apart). They can be pushed around (with difficulty) or you can make a Lox Saddle and ride them to wherever you want them - they don't need to be in the Plains to breed. Keep them in a stone wall enclosure with a bit of space, keep them fed, and you should see babies in a couple of in-game days. They take a few days to mature into adults, and remember you can only slaughter tame animals with a butcher's knife unless you enable PvP.

Build a farm. This is, ideally, at least 4 poles high with a small platform big enough for 2 but open enough the baby Lox will fall off. At the bottom dig a large hole (big enough to hold as many as you want). The reason to keep them high up is that they won't breed if there are more than 5 of them in close proximity. You need only feed the 2 on the platform. I believe there is a YouTube video which shows how to build it. Happy Lox pie.

Somthing i did was rode a couple to my Mountain base and made a walled pasture and let them run around there, quite a sight! Not particularly practical as you will need to make sure to have enough base structures covering the whole thing to make sure frost drakes dont murder them. Took me a long time to do that.

I have 1 tamed and have a saddle for him. But I never bothered taming another since I didn't think they would breed and didn't want to go through the trouble of taming another one if that meant I had to protect two of them if they wander around. Luckily the one I have stays in the same spot since I drop plenty of cloud berries around it.

I have noticed with many games there is tons of out dated information out there taking up space on the net. Always check the date, and double check with people still playing the game.

I've got a large Lox farm going and haven't had any issues with mobs coming in and stirring them up. I have a nice big stone wall around the property. I've usually got about 20 roaming about at any one time, I regularly cull and feed to breed. Definitely put a little space between them and your main building though, just in case. :)

I breed mine in the wild without enclosures, taming 2-3 lox at a time as 3 is the most common size cabinet of lox one finds in the wild. Preferably I will find a group of 3 lox near a few good sized rocks and some patches of cloudberries. If I am taming the usual 3, I will throw down 3 groups of stacks of 3 cloudberries, barley or flax, around the group equidistant apart. Once tamed it takes little if any work keeping them together in the same location. I will throw down a stack of 2 food near 2 lox that are fairly close together. When both of them come to eat the food, coitus occurs 99.9% of the time. and within a little while 1 or 2 baby lox are born. Like all tamed animals, the offspring tend to wander 30-50 metres away from their parents before maturing. One can either push them back into the herd before maturity, or ride them back after. Before long with very little effort, the area (or preferably island) will be teeming with lox. They tend to mull together in groups therefore there are no enemies that are particularly damaging to them. The worst scenario is when one has a cabinet of lox near a tarpit when there are also deathsquitos in the area, but with a large enough cabinet that can be advantageous in that tar and lox parts is regularly available for gathering.

This is how I started breeding them. Tame a small group, then let them breed back in the wild again, feed them in pairs as the multiply. Plus I didn't want them trampling over my newly planted crops.

I tamed 3 lox that were mulling beside a Fuling farm village I had liberated. They destroyed a good portion of crops I had planted in the plots the Fuling had made, and damaged some of their structures I had reutilized. I relocated them to a distant rock with patches of cloudberries nearby. 3 more lox spawned in their original position. Through this I learned that after taming lox if one relocates them, wild lox will spawn where the originals were, but if one leaves the tamed ones where they were discovered, no additional lox will spawn.
