I'm convinced that many that say this game is "too hard" simply started on a "bad seed", and need to try again. You can choose to take your already skilled character (and items in your inventory) to the new seed, or choose to start a whole new char. It's up to you!
Happy Adventuring!

Its what I am currently on, all bosses in a reasonable range, all content in a reasonable area.
Or try mPyru6uGGE that has the vendor visible when you start.
Edit: My main killed all bosses on this seed, so I can vouch for it not being "OP" (whatever that means in this context).
def go look at that seed generator.
Like I said, Not sure of long term play-ability, because I only used this random seed to kill Eikthyr and prove to myself I had actually learned to melee and parry.
The seed itself has the most massive starting island I've ever seen. You get x4 mountains including a really narrow range in the north that separates two plains. The Elder AND Bonemass bosses are present on the island. You have a merchant just across the water and a second island close enough you can swim to it, enclosing a circular ocean with a second narrow channel, both connecting to each island. There's a tiny mountain for initial wolf farming/taming and a tiny Plains for doing similar things with plains mobs. The tiny plains is barely a longship or two across but lone enough to consistently get mob spawns. Two good swamps for Iron mining, one close to The Elder for quick transitions and another on the North end in the Plains where you might set up a new base. Moder is also just one or so islands away, possibly on the merchant's Island which offers convenient access if you've got a portal already there.
There's a decently large Meadows to start that has a nice little river passing through so you have a convenient channel to sail a boat through to the other side.
You could nearly progress to the endgame without ever leaving the starting island with the exception of the Moder spawn.
If anyone is interested, I'll check in with the host player and get the exact seed for sharing. I'm not usually one to pick specific seeds, but this one is something unique. The starting island literally extends so North that the northmost part is nearly 2/3 of the way to the edge. We're just about to have fully upgraded silver gear, day 150+ and we've still yet to fully explore the starting island. Its just so big.

Everything you see aside from the little bit of exploration near the merchant and beyond, is all one "connected" island. There's even more not yet revealed.
I'm defining "connected" here to mean any section separated by a body of water that is shallow enough to be built on or swap across using foods available in Meadows/Black Forest only. So there's a little island hopping here and there, but a ship or raft isn't required to cross between the islands.
There's some really cool places to build as well. We're currently holed up in an "underground" base built under rocks in a mountain area in the North.
