new sacrificial stone for mistlands boss?
lots of discussion these days about how mistlands will connect with existing worlds.

seems the prevailing concept is already explored areas are locked in the old version content, unexplored areas can support new.

but what about the sacrificial stones? these are already explored; to wit, you spawn on them. is the game capable of adding a new stone for mistlands? or will the boss power be activated some other way?

Hmm... just how difficult would it be to implement another sacrificial stone?
We shall just have to wait and see ;)

This is essentially why there is a large zone around the Sacrificial Stones where terraforming and construction are blocked, so that new stones can be seamlessly added with new bosses.

Yeah, there should be no problem adding the extra two sacrificial stones. There are lore stones around the map that specifically mention seven Foresaken. They could've added two blank stones as placeholders. I'm guessing they held off because they didn't know exactly what the outline of the final two bosses would be and didn't want to have to redo the stones. Interestingly enough, unless something changes in the future, this to me sounds like they plan bosses for the Mistlands and I assume the Ashlands but nothing for the Deep North? I can think of appropriate bosses for the Ashlands AND the Deep North (Surtur and Laufey) but no idea what the boss for the Mistlands could be.

I remember them saying on Discord that they have this covered. My bet would also be that they already designed the stone circle with space for more.

If they make it bigger than it is it will destroy some worlds.

Well, there's already an invisible bubble of "you can't edit this area" around them, so as long as they utilized that specific area it wouldn't mess anyone up I'd presume.

Edit: And if someone used mods to mess with them, well, mods aren't supported and are used at your own risk...

I don't know just how close you can build to them. Moving the stones outward, it wouldn't take much movement to make space for an eighth stone. I think there's already enough for seven.

The stones currently fill a 10 meter radius and the no-build zone extends an additional 15 meters beyond that. As long as you didn't use mods to fill in that space, then there is far more than enough space to enlarge the circle to accomodate a boss for every biome in the game.
