If you are not opposed to using cheats, you can use the console and enter "devcommands" then either "killall" to kill all nearby enemies or "stopevent" to make the raid stop.
[EDIT] But there is no setting to lower the frequency of raids.
You can also spend less time in your base and more time exploring. The raids are checked for every so often. If you aren't inside your base at the time it checks no raid happens. (At least for the low level raids).
So, Sol, do be careful if you do go that route. I hadn't thought of that, so there might be a possibility of you making your pigs explode.
Mmmm. Bacon.
getting attacked by greydwarves every five ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ seconds while mining gets old so i have no qualms doing this
<3
Then again, I have experienced that when a friend and I were both playing the game, each on their own world and computer while talking on handsfree, we had raids at the same time.
So, if you do not wish to use console, all you need to do is time when they happen so that you can be away from your base on the following physical days. This do not cover one specific raid that triggers after killing the third boss, however.
When you find boar stones and abandoned farms make sure you mark those on your map too. Those locations are most likely to produce 1 and 2 star boars to tame.
if its the first one...thats weird. those raids don't (shouldn't...) happen that often, and the only time you should be facing large amounts of greydwarves are the raids, or if you go exploring at night (seriously, the spawnrate is even MORE nuts at night....use a bed).
If its the second one....well....thats just how it is. The spawnrate of greydwarves is pretty absurd, and they will regularly harrass you over and over and over....and over....and over.
Solutions:
Build a pit or wall that they can't cross. If its a pit or cliff, they'll see you and throw rocks if you're close enough. If its a wall, they can attack it if they see you, but they won't see you as easily....and you can at least ignore them for a few minutes and finish what you were doing before disposing of their rude, interrupting selves.
Also, you could ring your base (or mining sites) with campfires. It will keep the greydwarves far enough away that they likely won't even attempt to hurl rocks...but you have to maintain the fires if you want to keep them, and it only works on greydwarves....not skeletons or trolls.
