This sort of groomed thinking from other games doesn't match the intent of this one.

Sailing was meant to be the main mod of transportation. Portals were a compromise(head of the game didnt want them others did so they settled on no ore/metal ingot transport).

It is a decision by the devs for the scope and intent of the game. A game doesn't have to be bad simply because it doesn't have flying mounts.

Correct but the devs don't intend that for the game outside of admin commands and mods. Its really as simple as that.

That's why I asked, actually Hercules had a flying mount as well. But the game seems pretty enjoyable even without.

In case they add official flying mounts, I hope it will be flying horses.

I didn't know this game had so many mods, though. That's awesome.

The game world itself would have to be MUCH larger to warrant mounts at all, let alone flying mounts.

As it stands now, a flying mount of any kind would entirely invalidate like 80% of the gameplay.

Not gonna lie, though.. I would love to see options during world creation for uber-sized worlds. The default size is just.. too small once you can quickly sail.

That's more of a valid response. That's actually explaining it. I completely disagree, though. Ever rode a Lox before? They have Stamina. No reason a flying mount wouldn't. It doesn't have to be game-breaking to be useful.

Going back and forth on this is pointless. The devs intentionally do not have flying in the game per their other methods of intended transportation. That's the only reason and the only one that matters. Whataboutism, hopes, etc do not change this.

When Valheim is finished, maybe access to the devcommands should be locked out. But, as you progress through the game, magic becomes available to you so that eventually you can fly and do some of the other things, all at the cost of stamina, strength and hunger.
