Bonemass buff cant save you from a two star Berserker
If you decide to fight these big lugs melee, you're in for a surprise. I just got 3 shot by this guy. Tried parrying but it busted through my block limit and three shot me. Best way to fight these things is through a Bow and Needle arrows. Never again will I ever be cocky in fighting starred enemies, especially in current endgame areas.

Yeah, the starred fulings are definitely ones that require careful planning. Do not be afraid to run da fuq away and come back once aggro has settled again. Chipping away is easier than a full-frontal attack.
Even one star berserkers are not to be trifled with. Granted, I was in full mountain gear (not padded, as usual in plains) when I tried to fight it, but still... One hit with his stone axe reduced me to, like, 20 health, whereas I had around 120 or so before.

I ran and finished it with needles.

yea the 2 stars are strong, especially Fillings & berserker. I don't remember having difficulty parrying them tho. I have not played in a while so maybe I'm wrong.

Dodge?
Dodging doesn't help either. They can tank a lot, and it will take eventually one hit for them to get you, especially their three hit combo. Best technique to fight them so far is Draugr fang + Needle arrows.

The normal two star fulings can be subdued, just not the Berserker ones. Even with Serpent Stew- Blood Pudding and Lox Pie, they can chip that in seconds.
It's usually a bad idea to face tank unless your probably 2 biome progressions above what your fighting
WoW, I was thinking of creating a thread nearly the exact same as this one a few hours ago. I was recently bragging of how since I learned to block/parry, I am nearly indestructible. I rarely ever die these days, unless it is due to my early onset alzheimers or hubris. Then I thought back to about a week ago when I came up against a 2 star Fuling Berserker. I had managed to eliminate nearly all the fulings in one of their plains garrisons, when I surgically pulled a lone 2 star Berserker, with a plan to tank him 1 on 1 with my Fenris armor, Silver Knife & Blackmetal Shield. He approached me at full health, and I timed my block/parry perfectly. The battle was a fairly quick one, involving only 2 hits. He hit me, then I hit the ground dead. I could not believe it, that Bersrker was the first enemy in historical memory to hit through a perfectly timed block/parry and to kill me in 1 hit through a Blackmetal Shield.

I was thinking through this earlier today, with the idea that maybe I did not quite time my block/parry properly (even though I knew that I did). I had full food charge of wolf skewer, bread & turnip stew, so my health and stamina were at end game levels. I can't help but consider the fact I was wearing a full set of Fenris armor, was probably the main contributing factor that I died in 1 shot. After all Fenris fully upgraded is only slightly better than fully upgraded bronze armor, and I would not recommend fighting even regular Berserkers wearing only bronze armor.
@Complaintdesk:
There's no way that you can tank a 2* berserker. You WILL die. Snipe him with bow and arrow.

I tried tanking a 1* berserker in full lvl 3 padded, lvl 3 BM tower shield, serpent stew, lox pie and blood pudding.

Didn't work.

Edit: Ok, tried that again. I survived this time thanks to Bonemass, and my timer on Bonemass ran almost out. And I still took a severe beating. Even the BM tower shield will let damage through.

So, a two star? No friggin' way.

To be fair, I don't think you're supposed to be able to face tank everything and I like it that way.

If you can range an enemy or dodge its attacks then it's probably best to just to that.
Yes, I didn't even pop my Bonemass buff, that's why I say, most of my deaths these days are due to hubris. Like when I pull a half dozen fulings from a garrison, but forget to take out the 2 deathsquitos that are circling nearby. I definitely had to go with the full Fenris set, the legs & hood with padded chest was too OP and getting boring.

Tell me about it... ;)

I have a special place in my "bones to pick"... place for growths. Damn', do I hate these Mofos... :D
With the Draugr Fang & needle arrows, one can kill growths with one shot, as long as you're far enough away. When you are close to them it takes 3-4 direct hits to kill them, but with those long range distance shots they will crumble with a single shot. That is definitely where the Fenris armor shines. When fighting growths in Fenris, one can easily evade their spews.

Yeah, I know. I have no problem with one of them, even two sometimes work fine, but more then two, or if fulings and/or deathsquitos get into the mix...

Sometimes you just can't control the battlefield like you would want to. ;)
