Can't find 2* wolves

I've been trying to hunt these during nighttime for almost 3 (real-time) days but so far I've been a little out of luck. I tend to mark areas in the map where I usually encounter 1* wolves as apparently these areas have more chances of spawning the higher level ones but that's as far as I've got. Does having more players in your world increase the chances of finding 2 star wolves? I feel like the game might throw harder stuff at you if you're farming with more people thus increasing the chances of finding 2 star mobs.

I could be wrong, but I think going farther from spawn and spending more time in the world and progressing all contribute to a bigger chance of 2*

Having more players doesn't change anything. More mobs don't spawn and bosses have no more hit points or attack strength in multiplayer than in single player which makes taking them out in multiplayer easier.
Starred wolves only spawn at night. They tend to come in packs with other wolves. They spawn at the places where the day time wolves spawn and you can attract their attention by making noise. 2 star wolves only have a 1% chance of spawning so if you kill wolves and let them respawn you have a better chance of rolling that 1%. The downside to that is that by the time a 2 star wolf shows up it may be very close to morning and you might not get a chance to start taming before it despawns.

Go ahead and tame 0 and one star wolves as you find them that way you can start breeding them and only have to find one 2 star wolf to start breeding and culling your pack to all 2 stars.

I've always had more trouble finding a 2 star boar since the tame ones won't follow you and you can't really transport them to where you want them. The 2 star boars I've found have always been on the border of the meadows and the plains and most of the time fulings or deathsquitos kill them before I can get them back to my base.

Well, I'm trying on a 740 day old seed with all bosses done. Sometimes I see 1 2-star wolf during the You're Being Hunted Event but unfortunately you can't tame those. Other than that I haven't seen a single one.

I'm convinced most people that have them spawned them in with dev commands.

Super rare to the point I don't even bother looking for them so I am never prepared even in the astronomical chance one actually shows up.

Thousands of hours and 30 worlds I may have seen 2 or 3. I think I caught and bred one... been so long it may have been a one star group... probably was honestly ha ha.

I appreciate your honestly here, might actually save me some time. I think I'll be happy with just the 1-star puppy then.

In my experience it’s best to find a small to medium sized mountain with 3-4 known wolf spawns (usually packs of 2-3) Build a tame shack at the foot of the mountain. I use stone and iron gates if available. Make sure the base in comfortable. I also like an air gapped double wall when possible.

I go out at dusk and clear all the spawns , then you have to keep clearing them through the night. Eventually a 2 star will spawn. Shouldn’t take more that a few cycles if you keep clearing them until find one.

I’ll post a pic of the tame shack I like to make later.

Took me 186 days before I found some 2 star wolves. Just luck of the draw.

I didn't notice that. The first boss took far less time with 3 players than 2 and far less time with 2 than when I soloed it. I didn't pay attention to starting hit points. I think that would be easy to game. Just summon the boss and have the rest of the team log on after that.

On a few occasions I have been attacked by 2 star wolves in the evening while digging pits for silver mining. It helps to be in a mountain biome with Fenring out'n'about. The first one I got was on a mountain biome with no silver, drake or obsidian, but it did have lots of Fenring. After being attacked and killing a 1 star, I dug a taming pit where I was attacked, and the next evening a 2 star showed up. Foolishly I let the 2 stars 2 packmates live as I tried to kite them into the taming pit and was killed. 2 nights later a 2 star showed up, so I killed its 2 companions on my run for the taming pit.

In my case, any of the few 2 star wolves I've found up to now have spawned at night. Could be luck of the draw, of course.

Both mobs and bosses have more HP and hit harder in MP worlds. I think it is 5% increase per player. However if other players are not in the area mobs will have normal HP and attack dmg.
@OP: you must be doing something wrong or it is pure bad luck. I never spent more than 2-3 ingame days to find a 2star wolf.
So the first step is to search at night. When you see a pack of wolves, mark that location on map because there is a wolf spawner and that is most likely the place where you will find your 2star wolf. When you have several spawners marked on the map, visit them during the whole night. If you see a pack and there is no starred wolfes, kill them anyway and move to the next location. But remember to always kill them all to enable the next group of wolves to spawn. Not sure about spawn rates but i remember killing 2-3 groups per night at the same location.

Took me 3 days and I don't remember how many hours on top of that, slightly less than 4 irl days to find one. I was sure it was bugged and even made 4 total wolf traps in 3 different islands. I have read that the further you go from the center of the map the easier you find them. Where I found mine was half way from the edge and the center but still it took a long time.

Edit: also a bit weird to have that name + picture if you aren't him :P

I just found a 2 star wolf, he didn't eat meat when caught, I read you sometimes have to wait a full day for them to eat, and I decided to cut down trees, I thought I was in render distance, I was wrong. I'm annoyed right now myself.

They will eat immediately if they aren't alerted (you have to move out of their perception range, let them exit alert status, and then move back in without alerting them). If they don't eat and start the taming process before sun up one and 2 star wolves will despawn.
