Stone golem question
I keep killing a stone golem that is around many silver mines, they are getting annoying to kill. Starting to die to them as they only do AoE attacks and not the strike attack. I killed 7 stone golems in the same area. I even got 2 trophies. Are stone golems rare or common in mountains. Seem the drakes keep attacking them but do no damage which draws them to me. I kill it then feel like start mining again, then spawn back up. 2 Mines of silver that I know of. Can silver shield block their attacks, banded iron gets me staggered, have over 100 hp. Sausage, wolf and boar jerky.

I am done mining on the that mountain, while doing clean up run with wishbone. The same area spawn up another stone golem. At first I thought the other died, nope. Still in the pit while another one roam free. There was 2 old cabins there. Might the reason why I fought so many. Instead of 1 spawn but was dealing with 2 spawns.
I found 2 stone golems close to Modar shrine. 1 is patrolling around the shrine while second is close by. Do you think it is safe to try Modar or too much avoiding attacks and likely to be killed?
bonemass buff is great against golems with a pickaxe, pickaxe does extra dmg, not sure if the mace does but it may also. also if you dig a ditch they wont come down to bother you so start unearthing the silver and ignore them, if you cut out everything from underneath the silver and then break one piece, the whole thing breaks instantly so its way easier. they seem to respawn frequently afaik and are found around silver. the 2h crystal axe you can make with the crystals it drops is good for cutting wood too possibly

Stone goelms will leave dragon boss alone. Had to kite the boss to another area so the 2 stone golems stop coming after me. Stone golems will attack wolves, undead, drakes, and other monsters but seem to take no damage from the boss.

All creatures are sorted into factions. Creatures in the same faction will not fight one another. Bosses are allied with ALL factions so you'll never be able to get a non-tamed creature to attack a boss or vice versa.

Stone golems are considered a Black Forest mob.
They won't attack trolls but do attack skeletons and mountain mobs.
No mob/mini boss will attack a boss.

The main difference in the golem types is the attack swing. One is just horizontal while the other is vertical and can get you even if you are below them.

Golems are good in that they indicate some loot near by. Typically silver but will also show up for jewelry and chests. Just drop them into holes and put a bench near by. Bench will prevent respawn and also keep any drops from wolves and drakes that got killed by it.
Just like trolls, use them to mine ore for you

Doesn't work on silver. Unfortunatly.
if theyre giving you so much bother plant some work benches around and partially bury them (enough so a little pokes out so they dont auto destruct, and so enemies wont target them) and as others said digging so deep they cant reach you.
don't work at night. You can use roofing and other tiles to muffle the sound coming from the work site
Place fires, and tables.
Also true they are one of the few creatures allowed to perm change terrain mildly. A mob version of level, kinda.
centrally place afire then have four tables area overlap it in the middle. Hopefully to provide you with a 'safe' square. Some space where we hope nothing should be able to spawn,
Use raise land to create choke points if possible using the land. For drakes a half roofed 'stage' double or triple layered. Try to kite mobs back to those spots, where you to can tell anakin you have the high ground. Pre clear these. sorta level it a bit if possible, it will allow you to dictate the terms of engagement. And peace of mind to keep your back to a known area. Old mining spots are gold.

As ·ºSH13LDº· said the Bonemass buff seemed to make all the difference. Really resuces the damage taken. I find the Picks too slow to use a weaspon. Bonemass buff + Banded shield + Iron armour and Irond mace FTW
Stone golems are not affect by benches, and fires. wolves and drakes will be affect. Stone golems have a set number. Most I found are 2 and pretty much have similar patrol area/pattern.
Banded shield? That poor old thing should be hung up on a wall and replaced with a nice shiny shield, silver at least, black metal better, as noted earlier. Someone once had a thread in here about using an iron pick on a stone golem. They said they jumped on its head and killed it quick. Sounds like fun if you are brave and ready for a little excitement. Golems in the last year feel like they have been tweaked a bit. When the game first started they weren't as common as now, at least that is how I feel about them. One could mine silver in peace, not so much anymore.
bonemass buff is huge against rock golem, me and my friend literally just mine rock golems like they are a piece of stone with bonemass buff
if you have iron for iron buckler and mace, parrying and attacking is a great way to kill them quick.

if i do it right, i usually have enough time to parry>alternate attack> 2-3 normal attacks before they attack again, that's usually half their health or more there depending on your mace upgrade
