Beech seeds and fir pine cones seem to have a drop rate of about 20%. Birch seeds and pine cones seem to have a drop rate of 10%. Acorn drop rate seems to be about 5%. If you are after fine wood you are better off cutting down birch trees and you'll get more seeds for replanting. I only use acorns to plant oak trees for decorative purposes.
Not too much of a fan of it, I mean what are the bees even doing?
I could plant an entire forest out of beech trees. They drop too much! So take a bit of beech and give it to oak and I'm happy. :)
Like Guns said... it's prolly RNG.
