polearm best weapon?

here's why I can't get rid of my polearm: swords and maces are basic af, battleaxes are too slow, and spears are always out of range after a parry. is there anything that can change my mind on this?

Some bosses have resistance to pierce damage. If the damage number is grey it's time to invest in another weapon.

Bonemass and yagluth are almost inmune to pierce , looks lile u didnt fight them with a polearm lol , if you did then u are a masoquist xD
But overall dont work and its better to go another weapon against them

haven't fought them yet, must be why everyone recommends mace so much

Pole-arm alt attacks are a beast, it is a 360 degree spin and it stagger enemy's easy so you can finish them off with a stab!! Don't sleep on these weapons great for when you are surrounded.

Totally agree with blankitosonic on all counts. I really love the pierce+blunt of Porcupine, it wades through swarms of anything. Even though Abomination resists both, it doesn't take long to kill one with Porcupine. Sadly though it does not quite launch enemies through the air as far as Frostner does when using the secondary special attack. Porcupine is also the most recommended weapon to use against the last boss. My other go to weapon is Abyssal Razor, a rear sneak special attack can usually one-shot a Troll. It is fast, light and uses very little stamina, and a great weapon to hold while running away from or chasing down critters.

I'm actually getting pretty good at killing drakes with the dagger. Just takes a little high terain and running up at them as they hover on grounded area.

For my money, Fzanco has the answer.

The answer does not lie in the physical weapon with whatever attributes it may have. It lies instead in the brain that is employing that weapon.

Maces are meta, undeniably the best weapon due to the most common weakness among enemies being blunt and the club skill not only being the one you can level up the soonest but also the widest range of utility as sledges also fall under clubs. In addition the 2 best weapons in the game (frostner and porcupine) are maces that cover the blunt weakness while also benefiting from it. It’s a no brainer that they are broken. The other weapons server different utilities and attack styles but in terms of pure usability and overall damage and ease of skill gain none are better than the mace.

The bow is the best weapon hands down.

You can easily kite anything including trolls and bosses. Take out entire Fulong villages from a distance. And lets see some silly mace guy kill a bird in midair.
