polearm best weapon?
here's why I can't get rid of my polearm: swords and maces are basic af, battleaxes are too slow, and spears are always out of range after a parry. is there anything that can change my mind on this?

Anybody used flesh rippers extensively yet? Haven't managed to craft them on my survival world yet.

Flesh Rippers are fun and fast but block is horrible in fact im not sure you can block with the FR's... :steamsad:
Ooh, are they parry only? Interesting. Hopefully I can find enough claws to see for myself soon!
Knife is incredibly comfortable to use and is very safe and mobile. Mace is strong against the most annoying enemies and is great for the swamp which is a very hostile biome. Both of these let you carry a shield which is huge. I wish the two handed weapons besides the Atgier had more of a place in the game because weapon diversity feels a bit poor, and using the weapons that seem a lot more interesting are mainly just doing it for the meme.

Frostner's slow is insane by the way, that alone makes it hard to beat.
Flesh rippers have a X6 parry bonus which is definitely INSANE, so far with 40 blocking i could not block loxes, 1*+ goblins with them so i guess they're good depending on the situation ?
I'm more into battle axes, cause yeah they're slow, but they're not loosing damages when hitting multiple targets, and they have a crazy block force aswell.
It's just sad there's no black iron battleaxe ..

I'm just going to say that when it comes to the pointy metal object keeping me alive and everything else dead, 'basic AF' is not a negative.

Best is relative and subjective. That is all.
Best weapon is a herd of Lox stamping anything not friendly into the ground. Best craftable weapon I use is Silver Sword, even in the plains.
The problem with the polearm is that while its *really* effective against almost everything, the exceptions are the really big stuff. So after turning all the mobs into polearm skill points you wind up in the really hard fights with equipment you didn't bother upgrading and barely know which end to hold.

Flesh ripper block armor : 8-12 , x6 = 48-72
I dont see where the "insane" is , if you try to parry with that in mountain or plains youll be fked

Lol bruh, for fist weapons they're very good, i've been in mountains and being able to parry everything but golems and 2* wolves.
Take in consideration they use almost no stamina for the damages dealt and no knockback which makes them perfect to attack right after a parry

I put wrong numbers but its 48-72 ( 72 at having block at lvl 100 lol )
Normal wolf damage is 70 , 1* wolf damage is 105 , 2*wolf damage is 140 , maybe you can parry a normal wolf but will fill your stagger bar at the point of doing another parry will break your block , vs 2 or more wolves thats very dangerous or a dure death , 1* and 2* will play with you if you try to parry them
Numbers says something , you should prove you point of parrying a 1* wolf or various normal wolves
And again that is why those claws are great : They have a poor stamina usage, allowing you to parry, dodge & hit without being short on stamina
If you only want to parry then that weapon is not made for you for sure

EDIT : Since it seems like you use numbers, then don't forget the more health you have, the better your block is : So you can parry very easily two wolves, even 1* wolves
Just did the test with 122 health, 59 block and level 4 claws : I can block up to 3 wolves before getting staggered and two hits from a 1* wolf before getting staggered

Another member of the Atgeir masterrace. Hello dear brother. These plebs are heathens, ignore their preferences and continue to follow the Golden Path.
amen.

why aren't polearms good against bosses? also what outclasses the polearm in a boss fight in your opinion?
