I had an iron cooking hook on 2 campfires and it worked before, i use it on the hearth and it works as well....
Likely you are moving out of range of a different piece of furniture. Look at the wiki to see where the radius' are. The weirdest one for me is the hot tub comfort range.
Thanks for the info. I placed the Dragon Bed in the middle of the room and that leveled the entire area to lvl 11. Im content with that for now, I just know I need to open the room a bit more.
Thanks again.
what I have been doing is hearth over bedroom ... this nets me the comfort from below but I don't have to deal with a chimney, the top level has all the fires and an extra high roof with ventilation.
anyway, a single hearth will do a 5x cook rack, as will 2 campfires placed carefully. Its a little harder to get 3 items working together but its doable. I usually just do 2 hearths, since you still need the cooking pot... but I long sense realized there are 20+ ways to do anything in this game, all equally valid.
If this works...lol, this is what Im working on now. Very amateur, I know. But, Im adding space behind the hearth and adding more trophies and rugs...etc. Trying to see the best areas and combinations.
Here is the other side of the hearth. Im just starting with stone and all that. Just enjoying the game.

Once I got the hearth squared away, I was able to get the Iron station to work. Just needed some expansion and trial and error.
