Killed during foul smell from the swamp

So, I'd just cleared one of these and cleaned up the mess, shored up my base, and ANOTHER one pops up. I was busy crafting, got caught flat footed and killed. Now my respawn point is filled with Draugr and skeletons. The teleport and the spot where my gear is isn't far, but I'm not going to make it in my skivvies, already got killed a second time. Bye bye, skills...

As a solo player, is there anyway to recover from this FUBAR?

Aaand just got killed in my skivvies a third time, two steps from the bed by a Draugr. Let me guess, I'm going to have to restart on a new world, play and gear up until, hours of game time later, I can return and reclaim my base.

I've been putting up with a lot as a solo player, but this, THIS is @#$!. Too much.

I mean, the event only lasts for about 2 minutes, so...

If it really bothers you that much just turn on the dev commands and give yourself god mode until it's over.

I honestly don't get the problem. Eat something - rush in - pick up stuff - RUN! - gear up - kill 'em all.

Solo-playing too and never had a huge problem recovering my stuff... just annoyingly long runs but well...

And fyi, you won't lose any more skills when you die right after a death.

If you are not having fun, change it so you do. As a solo player I use ghost command to get my corpse a lot. I find corpse runs stupid and outdated, but that is what the devs want. But I won't let that ruin my fun.

Anyone know if iron grills and fencing will keep Draugrs out of home premises?

Base defense is very big for this game. Other stuff I read is to make moats then have area to jump over. My main is enemy proof until the flying stuff comes. No ground units damage my main base. Swamp is bit dangerous unless you build in the trees that cannot be destroyed.

I see that. I'd thought my defenses were good enough, but for some reason I just got overwhelmed this time. And the @#$!ers love to go straight for the boars I'm trying to tame, too. Gonna have to seriously rethink the defenses.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna do that, instead of spending hours on another world, starting from scratch, just to eventually reclaim my base.

The thing is, in this particular case, there's a Draugr literally within six feet of my respawn point. Respawn in your skivvies, get killed before you can take a step, rinse, repeat. I've got no interest in cheating, but in this case, I figure I've got to make an exception. No way I'm starting from scratch on another world, playing for hours just to gear up and go reclaim my base.

Like other said, put walls around for now. Or dig a trench. Also, make some back-up gear 'cause, as you've found out, it'll happen again. It's happened to me many times, I've learned I can be a stubborn idiot.

I had just gotten a big haul of iron back to the base, and crafted my first iron armor. I was pondering what to upgrade when I got attacked, and got whacked out front trying to fight them. My iron armor AND my best bronze are under that tombstone. My troll armor and other food is in a chest in the next room. A draugr is literally at the foot of the bed where I'm respawning, and I can't take two steps before getting chopped again. FUBAR.
