Random first. A ‘good seed’ depends on what your looking for. You have no idea yet.

Depends on your goal. If you want to play and are in no hurry, choose random. But if you want to move along faster choose a seed, that way you know exactly where to go for what you need. I think random is more fun, personally. Half the fun is just exploring and not knowing where to go...

After doing the first boss and getting some bronze stuff, go to the northern tip of the island and sail east for your trader and elder, sailing north from that tip nets you the bonemass... the other bosses are in a reasonable range.

perfect answer. Just use your first seed to learn. When I went looking for my pre-seed. I was looking for 2 things. boss locations and the market guy. But both these things I had no real idea about until I got some time in.
