Stone Golems are only weak to pickaxes. You can find a way to get on top of their head and mine them, but staying on top is tricky. Otherwise, you can whittle them down with arrows (slow) or work up the nerve to parry their attacks and hit them while stunned (risky).
You will need to collect at least one of each ingredient and have a sufficiently leveled workbench to unlock those recipes. Make sure you've collected guck from the swamp, if you haven't already. Once you've smelted silver, everything else should already be in place.
And silver is underground , if you really are using the wishbone your character will be sorrounded by a pip signal , more intense pips , more close to the place where you need to dig
Also how am i supposed to get on top of the freakin golem and use the pickaxe? LOL the pickaxe animation is way slower and that thing hits hard! I killed one doing mostly meleeish kiting and finished him off with arrows but it was painful.
If the wishbone beeps, one has detected a buried object. The faster the beeps occur, the closer one is to the object. If the rate slows, one is moving away from the object. The idea is to move to where the beeping is the fastest, then dig straight down. One should hit a silver vein six meters down or less. If not, stay in the pit and dig laterally in one direction until the beeping quickens or slows. If it quickens, keep digging laterally in the same direction. If it slows, go back to where you first dug and dig laterally in a different direction,
Once you strike silver, it is wisest to try and dig laterally slong the vein instead of straight into it. Silver veins can be shaped like the three hands of a clock (hour, minute, and second) at 20 seconds to four o'clock.
One will not usually find silver at elevations lower than obsidian. Some Mountain biomes are large in area but not very high. These may not contain very much silver or any at all.
Digging will, of course, attract stone golems. These are resistant to pierce and slash damage. Maces work best. If one can hop on top of a stone golem, a pick is also effective. Staying on a stone golem can be tricky, however.
Digging will also attract wolves and drakes. Drakes always fly so you'll need a bow and arrows to fight them. Wolves are better fought with melee weapons and shields. Don't let them gang up on you in the open.
You will need frost resistance mead. Armor that provides frost resistance, the wolf chest armor, the wolf cape, and the lox cape, all require silver to make. Also, the best health and stamina meads one can make may save you along with one or two tasty meads.
Try to avoid fighting near steep slopes. Being knocked off a cliff can result in a fall with more damage than a single blow from any enemy.
When the Wishbone detects something hidden, it will start "beeping". The closer you are to target, the more quickly it will beep. When it is near-constant and you can't move to get it to go any faster, you should be right on top of your target. That is where you need to dig. Hidden things can include silver (in mountains), muddy scrap piles (in swamps), and graves (mountains/meadows). Sometimes, you can loot a grave and the wishbone will keep beeping; logging out and back in should fix that, sometimes teleporting away and back will too.
It is possible to lure a golem near a slope or rock formation so that you can get on top of it. From this position, a pick can inflict serious damage on a golem, but it's easy to slip off, leaving you in a position to be attacked by the golem. Arrows are the safe way to fight them, but that costs arrows and time. In good armor and armed with a decent weapon, golems aren't too bad to fight in melee.
I'm now only using the chest piece root armor for the pierce resist as I'm preparing for the 3rd boss fight.
silver sword very important for upcoming boss, other than that nothing notable
just prepare for plain, you gonna spend a lot of time there
As for golem killing, I have found the pickaxe to be the most fun... and use terrain to your advantage.
Happy Holidays.
