is Crystal Battleaxe the weapon to solo Yagluth

i'm on my first Yagluth kill right now, so i'm still trying to figure out how to survive the damage, kiting him around the Plains and ♥♥♥♥. i've hit him with a few weapons and the Crystal BA seems to be maybe the right one if i can avoid the damage

the silver knife is pretty good too it looks like

even with the mead i'm still taking stupid fire damage though so i don't know i guess i might kite him to a lake

last time i engaged him a 2 star fuling with a club showed up so i had to run the hell away again. when i spawned him a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lox joined in to help him. fyi wild lox don't take any damage from his fire and they will wreck you while fighting him.

This fight has become a nightmarish maelstrom for solo players with the updates. Bow nerfs, ability to pin the boss in a prepared hole either by luring him in or harpooning him gone and the newly aggressive loxes have really made it tough. The other day, I had the boss, 3 loxes and a few deathsquitos on me in no time going back in after a death. Seems you have to get him on your first run or deal with all of this other stuff when you go back in. As for weapons I found the silver sword to be pretty good, but I didn't use the axe. GLHF!

yeah whatever the changes have been, it looks like it's gonna be a few days of fun on the plains with several days of recovery in between and far away while Bonemass recharges between attempts, until i start get the timing down and clear out enough adds i guess

Silver sword is the best weapon for it.
Also to make the fight easier you can stand right below him and his head will block most of the meteors. This way I had a relatively easy fight against him post H&H, I only had to hide behind a wall to regenerate health once.

are you blocking attacks with your shield while using the sword, or just dodging the fist and hiding below his chin for the meteors

When I did this before H&H I did it with a friend. We did all the proper prep with barley wine, padded armor, and fully leveled Frostners. I remember being disappointed by how easy it was. Happy to hear they've made it harder.

crystal BA have some more damage than silver sword ( in slash and spirit damage ) , but its slower so you choose

Just a guess, but it prolly takes more stamina as well.

it's doing a nice job, i just have to learn to dodge and remember to drink another fire mead before i run back in melee range

see at this point i was having fun and thought i had it down, but i forgot to notice the timer on the fire mead, so he roasted me a minute or so later. and i said many foul things and wept big soppy tears of woe and cried NOOOOOOOOO AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH

advice: if you are fighting him anywhere near tar pits, you will be there long enough for a growth to spawn at exactly the wrong moment

Have heard rumours that you can dig a giant hole and arrow dump on him...Anyone tried this yet

you could get him into a large pit probably. i'd rather raise a couple of hills to kite him around.
