I beat the game in 54 days. Random seed, permadeath, no sleep, no cheese, no exploits, only PAIN

I know people have speedrun the game using cheese/exploits in absurdly short amounts of time, but is there a community of legit hardcore speedrunners out there?

Console commands probably not, but everything else here sounds like perfectly normal glitch speedrun tech. Mundane, even.

As a general rule: If there is absolutely nothing a mob can do to hurt you, and you take advantage of it, that's not legit in my book.

Running between a dense cluster of pine trees so the troll has to run all the way around to get to you = legit.

Building a wooden watch tower to keep you out of harms way as you shoot arrows at monsters while they attempt to break it down = legit

Using your hoe to instantly put you on a rock tower that makes all the mobs wander aimlessly trying to reach you, but they never can even if you afk for a year = exploit.

Sitting inside an invulnerable tree in the swamp and hitting Bonemass as he clips through, never hurting you even if you afk = exploit.

Using corpse-run buff to cheese content that you failed to beat otherwise = exploit (and is in part why I choose to play perma-death)

For example, the number of in-games days needed to find a first swamp crypt or Yagluth's location can vary a lot and is mostly out of your control.

Indeed, on one of my maps Yagluth is near the Deep North, and no where else, it would be improbable to complete the run in that amount of hours.

So what? It can be done in under a minute with console commands. Just spawn the 5 boss trophies and hang them up.

Sounds like you gave this a good amount of thought and have a set of what you feel is legit that seems pretty much playing as intended.
I would guess a lot of time is spent by builders enjoying that aspect of the game.

This is exactly why any Valheim speedrunning community will be very small. There is just too much randomness to create a fair playing field for all competitors.

Indeed. Minecraft has a speedrunning scene and it's a hotbed of internet drama, amateur probability analysis and cheats using deniable drop rate mods.
