Valheim

Valheim

Thunderstore and the New update
So.. loading the game through Thunderstore/Modded now totally glitched out the game. No plugins loaded etc.

Is there a guide on how to get around this?

If I use mods, will I be able to play when the game updates?
Every time we update the game, many mods that players use become incompatible with the game. Until your mods have been updated by the creators they will most likely not work with Valheim. To make sure you don’t lose anything, it’s a good idea to backup your worlds and characters [C:\Users\ <username> \AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim] where mods are used before downloading new updates. In order to be certain that you can play larger updates right away, you should also have your mods (temporarily) removed.

How do I disable most mods so I can play the latest version of the game?
Go to steamapps\common\Valheim and move, delete or rename doorstop_config.ini file

How to completely delete most mods?
Go to the above folder and delete all folders EXCEPT [MonoBleedingEdge] and [Valheim_Data]
And also delete all files EXCEPT steam_appid, UnityCrashHandler64, UnityPlayer, Valheim

Holy crap! How is it possible a developer is posting on the Steam forums?!?!?! I have never seen this happen on the Valheim forums.

It's 2:22am Pacific Time. I must be extremely intoxicated by the lack of sleep, or you are a trickster! ;)

Why act surprised? They are here all the time!
They don't reply to every post but you can be sure they are reading it all for feedback.

I know they are certainly reading, but to actually see someone from IG development respond is like seeing Leprechauns giving out gold. :heart_eyes_yeti:

Not really though.

I mean if I was a dev I wouldn't waste my time responding to most of the stuff posted but they always seem to pop up for important things. It isn't that rare for this game.

I know you are just trying to be funny and clever but it really isn't fair to the devs to throw them on the fire for your amusement.

No no. You misunderstood me. I wasn't trying to be negative towards the developers. I was merely pointing out that it's ♥nice♥ to have a developer grace us with their presence, because I don't see them. Instead of throwing them on the fire, it's more like I was camping and suddenly a divine being is next to me with marshmallows. ♥

But I loved your response, because you interpreted injustice and countered me according to how you originally believed what you thought I was saying. ♥

PS: this is Lecherous Lychee. I was forced to change my name because Bungie (Destiny 2) didn't like my name. :lunar2019piginablanket:

Lol...figures. Well...seeing all the posts about issues, maybe it's better this way.

I should have it fixed by the time they iron out the issues. Hopefully.

It might still be available if you're happy messing about with repository id numbers and steam command. https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/611h5e/guide_how_to_download_older_versions_of_a_game_on

Pretty sure it's an individual mod causing the issues though, we're using r2modman from thunderstore here with only minor UI glitches.

It's right there in the Steam properties for the game. Also if you're running a server you don't have to put that anywhere near Steam, it's an entirely DRM free .exe, you can run it on a whole different computer if you want and update manually and anonymously.
