Im not sure about wolf because I always skipped it. But I guess I will make you more tanky.. maybe 3-4hits?
Im planning to use Wolf Skewer, Eyescream, and Onion Soup. Thats what I used for food last time and did ok. Granted, we fought her as a group (3 of us) so we were able to keep shifting who she was aggroed on, and kite her mostly. But this time Im solo and keeping it that way for a personal challenge. Guess I'll find out tonight. Just need 4 more stacks of silver to finish upgrading the Wolf Armor. And I dont use pots except for fire, poison, and frost resist. The cooldowns for health and stamina pots are too long and forget I to use them by the time I can anyhow.
Thanks for your input though!
Arrows : Needle > Obsidian > Fire > Poison > everything else.
This is how my last fight went on a mp server.
First of all you aren't supposed to have needle at that point.
Also Poison beats fire anytime desptie the boss being weak to fire because fire arrows are too weak to begin with.
Additionally poison will typically win over obsidian too in the flying phase becasue you most likely won't be able to shoot enough obsidian into her while she is moving around and shooting stuff at you.
Ground phase is different but melee will easily outdamage ranged during that anyway.
You can make needle arrows before killing Modor. I think I made like 200 for that fight in a multiplayer game (barely used any as I was having fun jumping on her with pick axe and then fist bashing her when she was nearly dead).
Plains is super easy to traverse once you have Root Armor for the pierce resistance. Worthwhile for the Lox Meat, Deathsquito drops and Cloud Berries which are really good quantity and quality wise for a decent stamina food item.
Going solo i would never choose root over wolf armor.
If you choose root armor anyway, i suggest you prepare the ground before you summon her. Use hoe and raise a few pillars of ground which you can use as cover when she fires her ice projectiles. Also don't forget frost res. potion and Bonemass power (i did
Best food before one can farm flour its : serpent stew , coocked serpent meat ( or wolf skewer ) and eyescream , for hp+hp+stamina
if you want stamina : serpent stew+eyescream+turnip soup ( better than onion soup because have + time and its the last stamina food that gives 2 hp regeneration , after that one all gives 1 )
Lox meat got huge nerf in this update , giving just 50 hp and 16 stamina
I don't need to be told that certain food items which take a lot more time to gather all components would obviously be better then Lox Meat or Cloudberries. Bringing up serpent meat is just a lol because I'm talking about both QUANTITY and quality and Serpent hunting can be rather quite rng whereas finding lox / cloudberries are far easier.
Efficiency wise Cloudberries are really good because a patch can easily yield 10 berries for a stamina supplement that one doesn't have to spend a lot of time on. Lox are less so as they can take awhile to kill depending on how you go about it - but lox cape / carpet can be good to get for early mountain traversal (easier to craft lox cape imo - I think wolf cape requires the wolf trophy) and additional comfort.
