Using devcommands type:
skiptime 1
You do lose a second (big deal) but it does show the day number.
I accidentally discovered by trying to figure out when the message appears. To get just before the message appears you need to:
tod .24
then wait a few seconds.
I got tired of waiting and wanted to see if there was a way to speed up time or skip time or something...
btw: it seems like the system keeps track of your new time and your old time. Because if you use tod -1, you go back to where you were in time before your first tod command.
I wanted that feature to know when to head back from exploring in order to harvest crops or ferment the next potion. It's not super hard to remember nor is it game breaking by any means, would just be nice to have.
The game probably won't get any direct clock mechanism, since Vikings had to rely on the sun/moon/stars/etc. After a while you get used to it.
But:
Day time last for 21 minutes
Night time last for 9 minutes (unless you sleep)
You could have a timer running as needed.
A trick to guess time spend: Measure from your rested time when you wake up from sleep
There is also another trick. Open the map. Familiarize yourself with the color shade of the unexplored land. It cycles between different bright and dark shades depending on "time of day". I think that is what the devs want you to pay attention to. Secretly giving you the tools you need to survive
Else I'm sure there is a mod for that, if you are into those
I'm good at telling time during the day (watching my food buffs and lighting), it's the game day number I'd love to see on, like, the skills info or something.
My project of escaping this hell is almost complete. I placed one teleporter so when I come out I fall straight down and the linked teleporter will catch my fall preventing my certain death. Then I'll come back out of the teleporter atop and fall forever. I call it portal. I have my hammer equipped, so when I want to end it all I can destroy the portal that catches me and end it all.
That's my solution to escape this hell. I can't have the days seem the same, if only I could draw a line on a wall to let me know how many days I been here, but I have this crazy teleporter and you'd think I could invent a watch. This world isn't right. I'll end it tonight.
Edit: nvm no it does not
(not really a problem in the late game, when wraith ambushes are less lethal...)
