Cooking recipes not unlocking.

My friend can't unlock (some) cooking recipes. Serpent stew and Lox Pie for example. When holding cooked serpent, red mushrooms AND honey he does not get the recipe. I made a new character (alt) and unlocked the recipe. Are we doing something wrong? Could mods break it? Is there a console command to get the recipes?

Since you sound so sure you're holding all the necessary items, this is all I can think of.
Maybe he needs to craft his own cooking pot, see if that does anything.

Thanks for the reply, after some troubleshooting we found out it was possibly caused by a BetterArchery mod.
