I pretty much overhauled all the default raids so they progress as you do, and added some new combos. It even lets you make 'world' raids, so those ones can happen away from your base, or raids that only happen in a set biome. Oh your out in the dark forest mining some copper eh? The forest don't like invaders, mix of brutes, shaman and trolls start coming your way! (trolls only after you kill elder, and 1-2 starts replace normal brutes and shaman, ramps up the challange.)
Personally, I don't use mods at the moment, but I can guarantee that will change after I've "Beaten" the game.
Maybe I'll just start a "Modded" file and keep one Vanilla.
You can beat most 60$ games in 30-40.
First go was basic learning the game, taking ones time, figureing things out, having a lot of fails as I experienced new stuff and not being as prepped as I thought I was :P
2nd time around was more of a 'I want a harder seed' and that is where I started to give me a bit more of a challenge.
Now 3rd time I went with mods and I'm still tweaking some things and balancing out these raids and figuring out what mods work good, and what mods are just some nice QOL ones like auto fuel and auto store (mostly to cut down lag of having items on the ground and having to run around making sure every torch and fire pit and such has fuel to keep it going)
4th run is planned after hearth and home pops and I'll be partnering with a buddy and we already have a list of mods we pan to use with the idea that are existing characters with just the bare min will be entering a new fresh world but with harder challenges right off the bat.
.........one fun thing with the custom raids mod, it allows for raids that only happen only on a set day or days. So we are planning to have the boss's spawn at a set day time frame and with a chanse of more than 1 spawning along with other mobs to counter that we are coming in with max silver tier gear, and setting it as world spawns so we don't have to be near our base for it to trigger. (though may tone it down to 1st tier iron as max starting set)
Think of it like bringing 7 days to die's hoard night into Vall XD (with weather effects and all! the first boss's weather effect has been perfect)
I suddenly want to see a small group take on a raid of all five bosses at once.
Maybe thats a idea for my next game
I fought him once, died, wandered...ended up not coming back to the area for a week or so, didn't see him so I spawned him in again.
Then the first one I spawned showed up, too.
One is still wandering that swamp. Thankfully it's in an out of the way area, lol
