Are there though?
That being said... check out 'Kenshi'.
i'm with everyone else, let them do what they came here to do .... bring forth an epic(hopefully lol) mythological viking experience
Kenshi is a good game and all, but it's not at all like Valheim...
I am a very big fan of Japanese mythology. I would not venture to start laying out any road map or suggestions as I am not near adept enough to make it make sense or flow. That does not take away from such a game potentially being amazing.
I agree with the OP, and have suggested the same in the past. Of course this is all just pipe dream and speculation for some time in the future after Valheim is complete.
I think this would be an excellent framework for a Japanese mythology setting, playing a fallen dishonored samurai given a chance to gain honor in a spirit realm by facing oni, yurei, tengu and such. The focus wouldn't even have to be on any particular kami, the goal could be to gain enough favor among any number via building or praying at shrines, defeating bosses, or any number of other goals.
Oh I agree, Kenshi is extremely ambitious and despite its jank, pulls off some amazing emergent gameplay.
